Host of “America’s Got Talent” Nick Cannon announced as he stood between the last remaining contenders for the Las Vegas grand prize and $1 million, 10-year-old Jackie Evancho and 30-year old Michael Grimm as the winner of the show’s fifth season , Michael Grimm. Grimm’s reaction was one of shock, disbelief and finally pure joy. His opponent, Jackie took it all with a grain of salt and showed no tears, and no disappointment as she knows she has a bright future ahead.
Our host, Marisa Petroro got the chance to interview Micheal Grimm after audience votes moved him on to the “Final Four”, one week before his win. He stated that he prepares for each performance with “breathing exercises and meditation” to keep his “nerves calmed down.” He spoke about how he got to know his opponent Taylor Matthews well and that they will keep in touch. “He’s a wonderful kid. A great guy” said Grimm of Matthews.

When asked if he ends-up winning the $1 million prize, what he would do, his response was, “there’s a lot of people that I want to help starting with my grandparents. There’s so many people on the Gulf Coast I want to help. If anything, I’d like to bring my music down there… spread the money around to the community.”
He stated that his idol is Otis Redding. Much luck to much deserving winner – Michael Grimm who recently got engaged to long-time girlfriend on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” earlier today.
