Actor, writer, and comedian, Tom Green, finished production on his new show called, “Go For The Green!” for Discovery Planet Green. The show wrapped filming last Thursday at Hollywood Center Studios. The set consisted of at least one mentioned recyclable material, as Tom Green stated, recycled sewage pipes (circles seen on the side set walls).

The game show is an educational yet a fun way of learning about the factors that are causing concern for our environment. The show begins with a large pool of approximately 50 contestants who stand in a green circle, center stage. After Tom Green’s introduction, the contestants wait for their cue from him to “go for the green!” after he asks the first multiple choice question. Contestants who answer choice “A” run to the green side of the sitting area (couch bleachers). Contestants with “B” choice answer, run to the blue side of the sitting area (also couch bleachers).
How the Game is Played:
Once at the couch bleachers (also used for audience sitting), Green continues his questions in order to whittle the crowd down to 6-8 players. If more players are left with correct answers, they ascend to podiums with buzzers where they answer a final question. All trivia questions are related to the environment.

After the players are selected through process of elimination, the second round, the “Green Light Round”, starts. In this round, contestants challenge each other for a place in the final two spots where the grand prize is an exotic, eco-friendly trip. If selected with a random green light, the chosen contestant must either answer the question, or “challenge” an opponent with the question. If the contestant answers the question themselves and gets it correct, they can send an opponent to go home. If they answer it wrong, then they go home. If their opponent answers it wrong, the opponent goes home. If the opponents answers correctly, the contestant that challenged them goes home.
The two contestants that remain at end of the round, move on to the third and final round where they play for the trip.
In the final round, each contestant must place in chronological order, big picture cards that represent occurrences related to green events, people or inventions. The contestant to achieve the most correct answers in the less amount of time, wins the trip! Some of the trips included: Cancun, Mexico; the Grand Canyon; Bangkok, Thailand; and Hawaii.
Bonus Game!
Tom Green has a fun, audience interactive part of the show called, “The Big $10 Money Game”. Green joins the audience seating area to quiz them on more green trivia. They win $10 cash for correct answers. Sometimes, Green will give wrong responses $10 depending on the content of the question. Because the show doesn’t actually give away any money, I’m guessing the producers and Tom Green decided to add this portion of the game in. It also gives those people who were in the original pool of 50 people a chance to go home with something. Even if it is just $10.
The Host:
Luckily, Tom Green fits-in perfectly into his show. Because it’s his show. It could have been awkward, I mean Green as a game show host. But, the format of the show allows Green to comfortably be himself and still be a great host. I predict we’ll be viewing more than just one season of this show on Planet Green.

First of all, I have to admit, I have never played the popular board game, “Trivial Pursuit”. I only have other game shows to compare it to.
The show is hosted by a Christopher Knight, a.k.a., Peter Brady from “The Brady Bunch”. During the early tapings of this show, he was flat with not a lot of charisma for a host. He limited himself to what he was told by the producers. I hope this changed as he got more comfortable with hosting during later tapings.

Above photo: Host, Christopher Knight waiting in between takes on his new game show.
Three contestants challenge each other in several rounds of trivia questions asked by people across the country who were videotaped by production asking their questions via a big screen in the studio. Questions are placed within topic categories. For example, sports, television, etc.
Players must collect six color-coded game pieces, or “wedges” by answering their questions correctly. The two players with the most wedges by the end of round one, go against each other in the second round. The player with the least, is sent home at the end of the first round.

Contestants in action on stage.
“America’s Team Captain” (a live in-studio guest)who is seen via a screen and is there to represent and make comments, along with pre-recorded questions given by other everyday folks, trying to stump the players with their trivia.
The two contestants go against each other in the second round, called “the hot pursuit round”. Whomever answers the most questions correctly, therefore, gaining the most wedges, wins this round and goes-on to the final round, where he, or she answers questions randomly shuffled within six different categories and goes head-to-head with “America’s Team Captain”. With each question answered incorrectly, the money in banked by “America” (really, the people that participated with their questions). If by the end of this round there is more money earned by “America”, than by “the studio” (or, contestant), “America” gets to split the winnings. Typically that may be somewhere between $200 to even $1000.
One attempt to stump a contestant was the question, “Who owns the Kwik-E-Mart on The Simpsons?” The contestant answered with “Apu”. Later, after the show taping, an audience member yelled-out that the answer was incorrect. Any “Simpsons” fans out there know the answer? Maybe you’d do better on “Trivia Pursuit”.
The show is set to air staring September 22nd. Here in Los Angeles, “My13″.

SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT!

Don't Forget The Lyrics host, Wayne Brady
Host, Wayne Brady (photo from a previous season) will be reading from a revised song board this season (not pictured).
Last season “Don’t Forget the Lyrics” featured celebrity singers for the first time. The karaoke-style game show recently wrapped its third season. Show ratings have proven to pull-in enough of an audience to book more name celebrity guests and contestants.
That’s right, MORE celebrities will be singing when the new season airs on FOX. The two show dates I attended, featured Rick Springfield, Mark McGrath, Gary Dell’Abate (a.k.a. BaBa Booey), En Vogue, Survivor, game show host, Chuck Woolery, and lead singer of Men At Work, Colin Hay.
Audiences also served as the background to a “People Magazine” photo shoot of producer, Mike Darnell. Wayne Brady announced his new debut R&B album, “A Long Time Coming” that consists of Brady singing a variety of cover songs.
The show had a change of pace, and put two strangers on a blind date with each other on-stage. Their back-up included: ex-girlfriend, ex-husband, and of course, Chuck Woolery. They managed to help each other win a lot of money!
Survivor sang, “Eye of the Tiger”, Rick Springfield sang “Jessie’s Girl” and his new single coming-out soon called, “What’s Victoria’s Secret”. En Vogue gave incredible performances of three songs. So incredible, that I forgot that I was on a game show set. More incredible, I’m not even an En Vogue fan, but I think I may be now.
One contestant was given a second chance. He had gotten to the $25,000 mark on the show. But, gave what was thought to be an incorrect lyric to “The Brady Bunch” theme song. The lyric was: “That’s the way WE all became the Brady Bunch”. Instead, he gave the same lyrics, but instead of “we” he sang it as “THEY”. After the executive producer did some research that night after the show taping, the next morning, it was confirmed that during the first season of “The Brady Bunch” the theme song was not sung by the children of the show. Therefore, the lyric during the first season was indeed “they”. The show brought back the contestant and allowed him to play-out the rest of his game. Did his second wind benefit him with more money? Catch the new season when it airs.

HOLLYWOOD JUNKET host, attended the recent tapings of “Don’t Forget the Lyrics”.
Written by: Charity C.
The Robinsons, Sister Sledge, Eddie Money, Jesse Money, Mark Cuban, and, Al B. Sure were the highlights of my fun filled exciting day! I watched four tapings of “Don’t Forget the Lyrics”, hosted by Wayne Brady! “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”, “We are Family”, “Baby Hold On to Me”, “Day or Night”, and “The Dallas Mavericks” are stuck in my brain right now!
The sister of the Robinsons, Brenda White, competed today, and her beautiful sisters were there to support her and performed, “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”! Brenda had the energy of Tina Turner and could perform just like Tina! The audience had goose bumps during her performance! Sister Sledge sang “We are Family” to help support a father and son team during the show! The family explained that the song, “We are Family” helped them have team spirit.
Eddie Money and daughter Jesse Money won money for their charity, and of course Eddie sang “Baby Hold on to Me”. Mark Cuban, owner of NBA team, the Dallas Mavericks, was there to support a contestant who is a fan of the Dallas Mavericks and gave this contestant an opportunity to sing the national anthem for a Mavericks game.
Last, but not least, Al B. Sure sang his hit “Day or Night”. He was a supporter for Eddie and Jesse Money. He always got guys to get girlfriends with this song in the late 80s! Wayne Brady even admits that he got his first girlfriend because of Sure’s hit song!

Hollywood Junket host was a stand-in contestant on the new cat game show!
Written by: Charity C.
On your mark get set, MEOW! Ok, for all you cat lovers out there, there’s a new Game Show coming out on GSN called “Think Like a Cat”, hosted by Chuck Woolery!

Host of “Think Like a Cat” gameshow, Chuck Woolery
It was nice to see Chuck on stage! He was very cool, funny, and easy-going on set. I actually didn’t get to see live cats, I was a stand-in where I was just used for blocking for the new show. I used a stuffed pink pussy cat named “Wolfie”. My “contestant” name was “Stephanie”. I loved my made-up intro for myself and my little cat Wolfie! When Chuck asked about my cat, I told him I was single and that my cat Wolfie makes me feel that I don’t need a boyfriend. I also thought it was ironic that Chuck hosted “Love Connection” and if he was still hosting that, then maybe he could have forwarded me to casting for that show.
The first round of the show is called “Fast and the Furriest”. Eight cats and their owners put them in a track and race other cats. The cats are motivated at the other side of the track by “Meow Mix” cat food and their beautiful owners. Three of the fastest cats of that round get to go to the second round. The second round is cute because the show has it set up like “Jeopardy”, but they twist everything in cat lingo. For example: “Just Kitten Around”, “Let’s Get Fuzzical”, “Maw and Paw”, “Famous Felines”, “HISS-story”, and “Cat-tistics”. You could also double your points if you pick a block of points that contained “Pick A Litter”! You have to answer a question from a random celebrity. If you are the one that picked, “pick a litter”, you are the only one that must answer the question. You could also consult your cat for help! Third prize winner gets $10,000, one year supply of “Meow Mix” cat food, and they get to donate $1,500 to any animal charity!
The grand prize winner can win one million dollars as well as cat food and contributing money to an animal charity! Isn’t that great! You would get to bond with your cat and win lots of money. So for all you cat owners out there, start grooming and training your cats to be the next winner in “Think Like a Cat”!
