Good news for Drew Carey, host of “Price is Right”. GSN has announced that they have greenlit a new project that will have Drew Carey as creator and host of a new primetime improv/variety show.
This new version of what sounds like “Whose Line is it Anyway” which featured a number of comedians, Wayne Brady now host of “Let’s Make a Deal” included, will also be produced by Carey along with Joe Roth (Alice in Wonderland, Are We There Yet?).
The comedy sketch show has yet to be titled and will premiere on GSN in the spring of 2011. All 40 episodes will be filmed in front of a live audience at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Audience can expect to see a bunch of Carey’s actor-comedian friends doing their best improv along with the occasional celebrity guest.
“My cast and the live audience and I will be having more fun than probably should be legal and, thanks to GSN, fans across the country will get to be a part of the fun” said Carey. He may also have the pleasure of working near his old friend Wayne Brady too if “Let’s Make a Deal” returns to Las Vegas.
