FOX’s dance competition show “So You Think You Can Dance” has wrapped-up it’s eighth season announcing “America’s Favorite Dancer” whom is a female dancer!
Melanie Moore has won the ultimate prize in dance competition of $250; a cover on Dance Spirit magazine; a Gatorade endorsement; and G Series FIT print campaign. Moore collected 47 percent of the vote, with second place runner-up Sasha Mallory taking-in 32 percent. Third place went to Marko Germar and Tadd Gadduang finished in fourth.

Winner Moore revealed a little known fact during our interview. She is a dancer who can also sing! Moore stated that she did not want to make it publicly known during the show for fear of the show broadcasting some of her school singing videos. Her next step is possibly acting after the SYTYCD tour.
We also talked to judges and fellow dancers after the show to get their opinions about this season. All Star dancer Josuha stated that he didn’t have any favorites and that he got emotional during this evenings show remembering when it was his moment on the show on-stage.

Guest judge and choreographer Tyce Dioiro said that he was very happy with tonight’s winner. When asked if he was a Glee fan he said that he doesn’t watch the show but is working with “Glee”s Matthew Morrison (Will Schuester) on a new film project called “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” that also includes Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez.
Hip Hop dancer/choreographer and guest judge, Lil’C said that the best piece of advice he has to give to dancers trying-out for the show is not to come with expectations.
Nigel Lythgoe’s reaction to tonight’s winner is that “you never know who’s going to be in the top…the women were very strong this season.” We also asked Lythgoe if he thinks that the judges have an influence over who America votes for. He stated that it’s his job to give his opinions about the performers and state that facts, and that he did not sway viewers to the female dancers this season. But, that they were simply stronger than the guys.
