THE CHOICE: After the Chairs Turned! Set News!

EXCLUSIVE! SET NEWS REPORT!
They love it when they stand!
Dating a celebrity has never been easier. FOX’s game show, “The Choice”, hosted by Cat Deeley (“So You Think You Can Dance”), very similar game play as “The Voice” puts everyday women and men in the the finger tips of hot celebrity contestants consisting of NFL football players, actors, comedians and reality show stars HOLLYWOOD JUNKET got an exclusive sneak-peek at all the episodes! Here’s what we got with this on-set news report.

Celebrity players make the call on whom they’d like to get a shot at taking-out on a date after collecting a pool of three ladies (or men) based only on the sound of their voice via “The Voice” style game scenario. Similar looking chairs and stage. A one-hour date that immediately happens after their episode is filmed. We didn’t get a peek at the actual date, but we’re guessing that it took place at a make-shift restaurant on a separate stage at the Culver City studios where the game show was shot.

CELEBRITY PLAYERS:

The celebrity players play in groups of four: Group one consisted of singer Romeo (a.k.a. Lil’ Romeo), Olympian skier Jeremy Bloom, soap opera star Jason Cook, and reality show star Pauly D (Jersey Shore).

Group two was professional skate boarder Seth Wescott, actor Parker Young, radio host Michael Catherwood, and singer Joe Jonas (The Jonas Brothers).

Group three included actor Dean Cain (Lois and Clark), Detroit Lions defensive football player Ndamukong Suh, cosmetic surgeon Dr. Robert Nettles, and super-male model Tyson Beckford.

In group four was “American Idol” Taylor Hicks, former football defensive player and “Dancing with the Stars” alum Warren Sapp, celebrity chef and restaurateur Rocco DiSpirito, and Mike Sorrentino (a.k.a. “The Situation”) from Jersey Shore.

The fifth celebrity group was compiled of comedian Finesse Mitchell (Saturday Night Live), NFL football Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, taekwondo Olympian Steven Lopez, and Kim Kardashian’s brother Rob Kardashian.

Ahh…and the sixth and final group is composed of ladies! Included in this group are: Playboy model Hope Dworaczki (The Celebrity Apprentice), actress/singer Sophie Monk (Date Movie), 2010 Miss USA Rima Fakih, and actress Carmen Electra (Baywatch).

WHAT HAPPENED:

Though most of the show tapings were nearly inaudible in most sections of the audience seating, there were some sweet spots where spectators could hear every word between contestants and celebrities. Sometimes, celebrities were disappointed after turning their chairs. In the case of Finesse Mitchell, once learning that one girl whom he turned his chair around for was a virgin, he tried to pull his “love handle” (or chair lever) to turn back around.

Dean Cain made his choice, and his girl pick took her place next to his chair standing. After Suh made his choice, he offered his girl his chair and HE stood next to her while she sat in the chair. Soon, the other men (except Cain) did the same. Out of every group, there was one male that would start the trend. The audience loved this about each man and applauded with standing ovations each time. Deeley said, “they love it when they stand”.

One surprise came with Pauly D’s speed round with one of his potential dates when he asked her if she was DTF (If you do not know what this means, we suggest watching “Jersey Shore”). Reactions from the audience was unbelievable surprise. “Gronk” (Rob Gronkowski) had a strong chemistry with one of his women. Rob Kardashian gave away that Gronk had told him he wanted to pick her when Deeley asked for his opinion on which girl Gronk should pick.

Another such strong chemistry was displayed with Carmen Electra and one male contestant that she had in her dating pool. The men celebrities, in many ways were somewhat disrespectful and rude to the women contestants. But, once the women celebrities played their game, the men appeared to be quite polite in comparison. Guys- one to watch out for in this group – beauty queen Rima Fakih!

Group four’s Taylor Hicks, Warren Sapp, Rocco DiSpirito, and The Situation had the most fun at their game and were big lovers of all women in general. They kept the game light, and fun – the way the game is meant to be played!

“The Choice” premieres Thursday, June 7th on FOX.
