THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE: Science and Magic in the 21st Century!

THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE
Opens Wednesday, July 14th

The famous and forever iconic Walt Disney cartoon, “Fantasia” will soon have a new modern-day twist on it to compare in “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, and Nicolas Cage. Jon Turteltaub (National Treasure) directed.

Video interview with Jerry Bruckheimer below:

The story begins with Merlin and his apprentice, Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage).

Before his passing, Merlin gives the ring that will reveal to Blake Merlin’s successor. Blake searches all throughout time and travels the world to find the new sorcerer until he meets young Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel) in present-day New York city. The ring destines Dave to be the next great “Merlin”.

While wandering through Blake’s shop, young Dave accidentally releases Blake’s Nemesis’ Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina) and Morgana (Alice Krige). A fight erupts which ends with all of their entrapment inside of another pottery container for the span of ten years.

SORCERER’S APPRENTICE red carpet video below:

When Blake is finally released from the trap he finds Dave in college studying Physics. Immediately, the sorcerer apprenticeship begins. But, not without a lot of upheaval from the earlier mentioned time traveling villains that also include a Chinese Sorcerer, “Sun Lok” (Gregory Woo), and a rocker magician, “Drake Stone” (Toby Kebbell).

The film is sure to be a new Disney classic in its own right. Be sure to stay after the film credits have rolled for a special unexpected scene reveal.
