The Top 6 Live Show and Eliminations Recap – THE VOICE

THE VOICE Recap: Season 4, Episode 17a (Monday, June 3,2013) and Episode 17b (Tuesday, June 4,2013).

Monday night’s live show of NBC’s “The Voice” was an all around country hoe down! More contestants than ever before performed Country music tracks, and those that were not Country, turned them into Country & Western versions. This was the case with Team Adam’s Amber Carrington who sang Skid Row’s “I’ll Remember You” as a country song.

Team Usher’s Michelle Chamuel and Team Shakira’s Sasha Allen performed on Tuesday night’s Live Show. This was followed by Monday night’s live show where Chamuel first performed Usher’s pick “Somewhere Only We Know”, then later her choice “I Knew You Were Trouble” by Taylor Swift. Swift made a surprise visit to Michelle during her rehearsals with Usher. “Singing a Taylor Swift song to Taylor Swift was crazy!”, exclaimed Michelle. Swift told Michelle, “That was so emotional! All the runs you picked were amazing.” Usher said, “If Taylor Swift loved it, I know America will too.

After Michelle finished, Usher stood-up and the crowd roared with screams and applause! Carson Daly said, “That’s like TRL, Backstreet Boys, ‘N Sync loud.”

Adam reacted, “I don’t need to say anything. Listen to these guys (audience screams and applause).” Blake said with envy, “I’m so freakin jealous right now. That was intense! I can’t believe you got Taylor to come in. It sounded really good!” Coach Usher said,”I guess we know we had trouble when Taylor walked in. The point of this song was connecting to Michelle in a different way, to get to now more about you.”

Michelle was the first save of Tuesday night’s elimination show.

HOLLY TUCKER – TEAM BLAKE

After her performance, Shakira reacted, “That was awesome. I think you’ve become one of those artists that consistently give good performances.” Adam stated about Holly “One of the points of today is doing something that’s your choice. You’ve really shown range and scope. What’s been cool and watching unfold is how much diversity you’ve shown.”

Coach Blake said, “You’re easily the most diverse artist that I have on Team Blake. Your voice is so powerful. You do the opposite of big notes sometimes. It’s rare with female singers that can go way up and way down. Teach me please.”

Holly went home during Tuesday’s live elimination show after it was revealed she did not earn enough of America’s votes to move-on to the Top Six.

During The Swon Brothers’ rehearsal, Blake said, “The worse thing you can do is to try and imitate him (Merle)”. After their performance, Usher said, “You one hundred percent represent Country and have a great coach. It’s great to see your personalities come out in it.”

Adam said, “I don’t think you could have a prouder coach than this guy. How could you not enjoy what you did. It was a really great thing to see. I don’t thing there’s a song on Earth that Blake really wanted to see more!” – Adam.

Coach Blake reacted with, “You have not forgotten your roots. You’re the only ones that keeps dipping back into your roots. There’s going to be people that moan that we’re doing a lot of Country on THE VOICE. But, you’ll hit another ninety percent that will feel something special.”

The Swon Brothers earned enough of America’s votes to move on to the Top Six.

“Memphis is your biggest hits” said Blake to Danielle. After Monday night’s performance, Usher stated, “You come out and possess the type of confidence to keep you going.” Adam said, “I’m not a bandwagon Danielle Bradbery fan. I liked you from the beginning! I wanted you form the beginning. But, I had no chance because of the cowboy boots. You are still, in my opinion, one of the best on the show.”

Coach Blake said, “You make my job easy. There’s no tricks, and no reason to change things up. You are so great at what you do. You are like my wife- born with a little something extra. That is Danielle. You’re seeing a star being born.”

“Danielle chose this song because it’s a song that showcases her upper registry,. But, I think she bit off a little more than she can chew.” – Blake

At the end of her performance, Blake gave her a standing ovation. Usher was the first of the judges to speak, saying “That was an incredible, amazing note at the end of the song.” Adam said, “Believe it or not I actually performed with Sara. Danielle, I love you. That last note was one of the most powerful in this competition. So you’re good to go.”

Coach Blake reacted with “The exciting thing and the best thing is when they (artists) posses the power of vocally that you have but they choose when to use it. Every now and then you hit people with a note like you did. And it’s so freakin special.”

Adam told Amber during rehearsals, “It was really hard watching Judith Hill go home. But you are more versatile.” The coaches commented on Amber’s performance of Skid Row, “I think that was a great song choice. It’s good that you’re showing us your different side and you’re changing it up. Kudos to you and your coach,” said Shakira

Coach Adam said, “It’s so crazy it works. What’s great about this Amber is that I’m so happy doing what I do. You take risks, sometimes they pan out sometimes they don’t. This is a song that stands alone. Amber, you are incredible. – Coach Adam

More reactions came from the coaches after Amber performed Patsy Cline’s “Crazy”. “I love all these classic country songs. There’s these sacred grounds. I thought, don’t do Patsy. But I thought it was good,” said Blake

Shakira said, “I thought it was beautiful. It was a great song choice.” Coach Adam gave Amber words of encouragement, “Amber you’re a breathe of fresh air in general. You’re a fire cracker. You need to show everyone you’re firecracker side. Blake’s right, this is scared ground. This is faithful to the original. I would have never let you do it if you didn’t bring a purity to it.”

I guess there’s more than one Sasha fierce. You have an incredible voice. That was really remarkable.”

Coach Shakira exclaimed, “That was hot! That’s established. One of my first concerns with you in the beginning was your stage presence. let me tell you you just worked that stage. That song was fierce. That’s why they call you Sasha fierce because you deserve it!”

Sasha Allen’s votes on Tuesday night revealed that she was safe!
