Comeback Artist Revealed on THE VOICE Season 21 Top 13 Results

It was new coach Ariana Grande’s first “The Voice” live show on season 21.  On Monday night’s episode, the Top 20 performed for America’s vote which gave fans a Top 13 from the voting results that were revealed in Tuesday’s Results Show.   Also on Tuesday’s episode, the Comeback Artist was revealed.  This Comeback Artist competed for the same Instant Save vote at the end of the night that the other artist who had gotten the least amount of votes on Monday night.   The Top 13 were announced and they will move on to next week’s live show.

 

TEAM KELLY was up first.  The artists on Team Kelly – Gymani, Jeremy Rosado, Hailey Mia (the youngest artist at 14-years-old), Girl Named Tom,  Katie Rae.  Kelly said the other coaches “are scared” of the talent on her Team.

GIRL NAMED TOM – The sibling trio sang “Creep” by Radiohead.  John Legend commented that he loved how they sang together. “The blend…we’ve never seen a group sing with the tightness and musicality that you have done throughout your journey in this competition.”  He said “another well done performance.”  Kelly said “it’s such a beautiful song and it sounded so well blended.  Kelly and John both agreed that the soaring notes sounded like Queen.

KATIE RAE – Katie sang “Stormy Weather.”   Ariana told her that she is “such a queen’ and one of her favorite performances so far. She keeps getting better and better. Kelly said Katie’s voice is insane.  Her voice and rasp “are undeniable.”

GYMANI – Gymani sang “Say Something” by A Great Big World.  Blake told Gymani that she’s trained them to all know that when she gets on stage something great is going to happen.  She didn’t disappoint. Kelly was teary-eyed and said “tonight’s performance was about showcasing a toned-down performance. She said it was “so beautifully broken.”

JEREMY ROSADO  – Jeremy sang “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars.  John said, “Jeremy I love watching you perform because you put so much heart and energy, and spirit into every performance.” He told him “amazing voice.”  That vocal ability, and range are “stunning.” Kelly told Jeremy that it’s her favorite performance of his on the show ever. “You’ve lived the message, probably. You feel it.”  She added that he’s a great storyteller, and her favorite at that.

HAILEY MIA – Hailey performed the “Traitor” song by Olivia Rodirigo.  She’s 14, the youngest on “The Voice” this season.  Former coach Ariana said she found a “perfect home on  Team Kelly and never sounded better.”  She said she’s so proud of her.”  Kelly was standing because Hailey just turned 14 and is incredible. She said she didn’t sound like that at 14 years old. She said all the record labels are idiots because Hailey is “so good!”

 

TEAM LEGEND  John said he has “such a powerful Team.”  His Team consists of: Samuel Harness, Jershika Maple (previously on Team Kelly), Joshua Vacanti, breakout artist of the Knockouts was, Shadale, David Vogel (stolen from Ariana),   Shadale was up first.

SHADALE – Shadale sang “Love on the Brain.”  Blake said “you’re the first person that I’ve seen so far that clearly came here tonight to win this damn thing.”  He said she took the stage by storm.  Legend said she came in with such confidence, skill and precision. “It was stunning and powerful.”  He said she “dominated the stage” the whole time.

JOSHUA VACANTI – Joshua Vacanti sang “You and I” by Lady Gaga.  Ariana reacted “you better sing.” She said she’s never going to forgive John for Blocking her from him.  She loved that he covered a Lady Gaga song  “all my worlds are colliding,” she finished.   John said one of the best decisions he made in his life was to Block Ariana Grande from Joshua.  He loves how Joshua “gives everything.” John finished with Joshua’s voice is “incredible and stunning.”

JERSHIKA MAPLE – Jershika sang “Beggin'” song.  Kelly was her former coach.  Kelly said it was the worst decision she made on the show when she let Jershika go.  Kelly also commented that Jershika’s vocals are insane. I’m so happy for you John.”  John said he’s so happy for him too!  One of the best decisions Kelly made was letting him Steal Jershika.  “Your voice is stunning.  You don’t just have a great voice, you walk with purpose,” and he loves working with her.

SAMUEL HARNESS – John said he made it sound like it was HIS song and it was so “powerful and compelling.”

DAVID VOGEL – Former coach Ariana told David that she’s “so proud of him” and he is getting better and better.  She told him that she’s holding him to that tattoo.  John said he was thinking the same thing that David is going to be doing this forever.  He said he’s such a performer and watched how he was rehearsing with the band.

 

TEAM ARIANA  The artists on Team Ariana include:  Ryleigh Plank  (Power house rock star Olympian” is how Ariana describes her.)  Raquel Trinidad (old soul with new vibe), Jim & Sasha Allen, Holly Forbes, Bella DeNapoli.

RAQUEL TRINIDAD – Raquel sang “I Don’t Know Why.”  Kelly reacted to what she did with that song is true artistry and made it hers.  “You did such a great job.”  Ariana said “I’m so proud of you, you have not idea.”  She said she was blown away by this, and her growth as a vocalist and technician is healthy.

JIM & SASHA ALLEN – They sang The Beatles “Hey Jude.”  John reacted,  “I love seeing your Rock Star image you’re giving it.”  He also said he loved how they are coming into their own as performers.  Ariana said she loves them so much and loves what they do and how they sing.  She added, “Sasha, you are such a star.”  And, that no one would know that he has laryngitis.

BELLA DENAPOLI – Blake said Ariana told him that Bella was going to do Gwen’s “Sweet Escape” on the show.  He said Gwen and Acorn are going to have to add her to the copyright because “it was so good.”  Ariana said Bella has such a good sense of artistry and “she’s the perfect Pop star.”

RYLEIGH PLANK – Ryleigh sang the Whitney Houston song “I’m Your Baby Tonight.”  Ariana thought it was phenomenal and she picked these tremendous songs.  She told her she adores her.

HOLLY FORBES – Holly knocked it out of the park when she sang “Torn.”  Kelly told her between her and Jershika they’re killing her.  The bad part about her show is that they lose artists that they love.  Kell finished with that Holly was so amazing and it was so beautiful.  Ariana said it was a brilliant song choice. “You just sang the hell out of it.”  She’s consistent and knows who she is as an artist.

 

TEAM BLAKE Blake said his Team is “unstoppable.”  His Team is:  Peedy Chavis (a blast from the past) Blake said he’s coming at music from a completely different angle.  It’s so refreshing.”  Libianca (R&B Soul artist), Paris Winningham, Lana Scott (Country artist), Wendy Moten.

PEEDY CHAVIS – Peedy sang “Proud Mary” by Tina Turner while dressed like Elvis in his ’68 Comeback Special.  John said Peedy puts his heart and soul into every performance.  Blake reacted, “Peedy, what the hell”, and  his mom texted him before Peedy sang saying she’s voting for Peedy. Then, all Blake could yell was “America, vote for Peedy!!”

LIBIANCA – Libianca sang “Woman.”  All the coaches were standing.  Ariana said when Libianca started rapping she left her body and almost passed out  “what a thrilling performance.”  Blake said they’re all freaking out over Libianca’s voice.”   He told everyone that Libianca has to feel the connection (to the song) and that’s how she’s able to deliver a performance like that

PARIS WINNINGHAM – Paris sang “I Wish it Would Rain” by the Temptations.   When his performance finished, Carson Daly noted that “shoes were flying” (from Kelly) and all the coaches were standing.  Blake said he was listening to Paris rehearse this week. He took a moment,  “I want to thank “The Voice” Gods for putting Paris on my Team, and thank God, God for the moment of temporary deafness and insanity he put on John for letting Paris go!”

LANA SCOTT – Lana sang “Next Girl.”  Blake said it’s a heavy load that he put on her shoulders.  “I can not be more proud of you and your performance.”  He said Lana is the Country artist this season. “We need you on the radio in Country music right now.”  Kelly agreed.

WENDY MOTEN – Wendy sang “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston.  She got a standing ovation from all the coaches.  Kelly said she is “obsessed with Wendy. “You are so gifted.”  Kelly said “It is insane if you don’t make the finale.”  Blake said he’s been doing this show for 21 seasons now and there is nobody that he wants this more for ever than for Wendy.  “You deserve this,” Blake told Wendy.

 

TUESDAY’S RESULTS SHOW:

The coaches had the chance to save one artist each.  The remaining artists had to perform for the Instant Save Vote by America.  One artist got to compete for a “Wild Card” spot which was the Comeback Artist who had the chance to join the live competition by performing also for that same vote.  Team Kelly was called to the stage first to hear their fates.

Team Kelly: Katie Rae, Hailey Mia, Girl Named Tom, Gymani, Jeremy Rosado.  Katie said she hoped the viewers got to see her soulful side in her Top 20 performance Monday night.  The artist who was announced as having the most votes for America’s Save was Girl Named Tom.

The next artist with America’s Save vote was Jeremy Rosado.  That meant Kelly had to choose between Gymani, Hailey Mia, and Katie Rae to Save one of them.  Kelly told them that they are all very gifted.  Kelly said Hailey had a pitch perfect, flawless performance, and Gymani was also amazing.  Kelly chose Gymani.  She said she went with the one who picked her from the beginning.

Paris Hilton stopped by to promote her new show called “Paris in Love” which will show every aspect of her engagement and upcoming wedding.  The show will air on Peacock.  Team Legend was called out to the stage next.

Team Legend: David Vogel, Jershika Maple, Joshua Vacanti, Samuel Harness, Shadale.  America’s Save vote went to Jershika MapleJoshua Vacanti received the next vote.  The remaining artists were left up to be voted on by coach John Legend.  He said every one of them is phenomenal.  He chose Shadale who was shocked when he called her name.
Team Ariana Grande:  Holly Forbes, Bella DeNapoli, Jim & Sasha Allen, Raquel Trinidad, Ryleigh Plank.  The artist who received the most of America’s votes was Jim & Sasha Allen.  America also Saved Holly Forbes.  Ariana was saddened to have to choose between the remaining three artists.

She had to choose between Bella, Ryleigh and Raquel.  While crying, Ariana told them that they are all “so brilliant…” She reassured that she will “be here as a friend and Face Time any time of day.”  She told them that she loves them “so, so much.” Ariana chose Ryleigh Plank.

Team Blake was next.  All the members of Team Blake held hands while hearing the results.  The artists were:  Peedy Chavis, Paris Winningham, Libianca, Wendy Moten, Lana Scott.  America Saved Wendy Moten.  The next vote went to Paris Winningham.  Blake had to pick one member.  He said “this sucks because you all deserve to move on.” He said they all on the coaching panel have dealt with “no’s” in the industry.  He said he chose Lana Scott because the lane is wide open.  ‘

 

INSTANT SAVE ARTISTS:

The artists with the most votes from Monday night’s show will moved-on to sing for the Instant Save Vote.  It was down to Hailey Mia and Katie Rae.  Hailey Mia won the vote.   The next artist from Team Legend with the most votes was Samuel Harness.  Unfortunately,  David Vogel went home.

Team Ariana’s artists were: Bella DeNapoli and Raquel Trinidad.  The artist to sing for the Instant Save vote was Bella DeNapoli.  Next was Team Blake’s Libianca and Peedy Chavis.  It was Peedy Chavis who received the most votes and performed for the Save Vote.
One more singer joined the group of singers who were performing for the Instant Save Vote.  That was the artist that won the Comeback Vote.   The winner of the Comeback Vote was Team Ariana’s  Vaughn Mogel

 

INSTANT SAVE PERFORMANCES:

Samuel Harness (Team Legend) sang “Before You Go.”  John said “this moment pushed you to be the best you’ve ever been on this show.”  He said the power, sense of urgency.  He was pitch perfect.  John said Samuel gave his best tonight.   Bella DeNapoli (Team Ariana) sang “Ain’t No Other Man” by Christina Aguilera.   Ariana reacted that she’s obsessed with Bella and asked America to “whip out their devices” to vote for Bella.

 

Peedy Chavis (Team Blake) performed Country song “There’s a Stranger in My Bed.”  Blake told Peedy that he’s so good at what he does and never seen him do a Country song.  He said Peedy has so many layers to him and urged America to vote for Peedy.  Hailey Mia (Team Kelly) was next.  Kelly reminded everyone that “this girl just turned 14” and she is “built for a show like this.”  Kelly said she’s completely shocked that Hailey is in this place right now.

Comeback Artist Vaughn Mugol performed next.  Ariana reacted that Vaughn has never sounded better “Holy Moley..”  She said seeing him back tonight “is such a spectacular gift” and they all love him so much.

The artists who had just performed for the Instant Save Vote came back out onto the stage so that America could start voting for which one would join the other twelve artists to move on to the Top 13.  America had to vote on the following artists: Samuel Harness, Bella DeNapoli, Peedy Chavis, Haily Mia, Vaughn Mugol.

Blake reacted that ‘this is crazy how it works out sometimes.”  He told Peedy that if this doesn’t work out, he has a few venues he’d like to book Peedy in like “right now!”  Ariana told Bella that her sense of artistry “is so sharp. That’s something you can’t teach.”  She said Bella has a “phenomenal” voice.  John told Samuel that he’s such a great singer and he has a “unique story and a unique voice.  That’s his super power. He makes every song a moment.”   Kelly told Hailey that she is so shocked that Hailey is there.  “Whatever happens tonight. You are 14 years old.  This is the first step.”  Ariana told Vaughn that he’s so gifted and is such a light.

INSTANT SAVE WINNER (Wild Card Artist):  Hailey Mia.
