Two Bombshells Have Entered the DESTINATION X Bus Episode 3 Recap
June 10, 2025Easy Come, Easy Go on YES, CHEF Episode 7 Recap
It’s four against two in this week’s episode of “Yes, Chef.” The remaining chefs, Zain, Jake, Lee, and Emily make a pact to be the final four, wanting to get rid of the two previously eliminated chefs Petrina and Julia.
Judges and hosts, Martha Stewart and Chef Jose Andres threw a new challenge at the chefs this week. They had to create a full three-course meal for dinner guests. Patrina and Julia were selected by Martha and Jose to be the Team leaders for this first challenge.
Call My Beef!
This challenge was titled, “prove it or lose it.” In order to receive certain ingredients for the main challenge, chefs had to beat each other in smaller challenges of who could do what prep work faster. Emily said she could filet one fish in five minutes, betting that her opposing chef Jake could not do four of them in five minutes. He in fact won that challenge, thus winning his team all of the seafood in the pantry.
The next two to go head-to-head were Zain and Lee. They had to bet each other who could cut up the most raw chickens in five minutes. Lee, from the blue team, said he could do five chickens in five minutes. The blue team also won the chicken, and all the protein because of it. That meant no protein for the green team. Julia lost the garlic and alliums for not cutting six shallots in five minutes.
When it came time for the actual challenge, both Lee and Zain wanted the Trumpet mushrooms. The problem, Zaine was on the team without meat and she was steaming mad when Lee got to the mushrooms before her. After feeling a bit of guilt, Lee decided to pivot to another ingredient and gave Zaine the mushrooms.
Petrina Takes a Risk:
It’s not new, and rather expected that Petrina would have another meltdown in the kitchen this week. Because that’s what Petrina does each week. This time, it was Petrina’s desert that was getting sabotaged by herself. When things go awry, she tries to pivot to something else. But, ultimately, it’s too late. Zain says “she shouldn’t have come back in the first place!” Lol! She might be right.
The team that won was the Green Team, who had no protein and may as well have served all vegan. The MVC (Most Valuable Chef) was Emily and with that win came the responsibility to elect the two chefs to go into the cook-off where at the end of it, Martha and Jose would choose who to send home.
Chef Lee talked to Emily in private to state his case why he shouldn’t be one of the chefs to be in the cook-off. Emily ended-up agreeing because she ultimately decided to put the two chefs with the lowest rated dishes up. They were Jake vs. Julia. Emily told them they “have to fight for it and may the best chef win.”

Sights Set on Final Four!
Jake was set on sending Julia home again. They had to make a Tarte Tatin within 20 minutes. The twist, they would only be allowed to use scissors instead of a knife. The most important part of a Tarte Tatin is “beautiful knife cuts” Jake panicked. Julia chose to make a beef Tarte Tatin, while Jake made a strawberry one. The winner, by narrow margin, was Jake. It was Julia’s second time being sent home. The other chefs were relieved, and the focus shifted to getting Petrina out.
After the challenge, Martha and Jose gave the chefs some homework. That is to think of a dish that could be served in a high-end restaurant, Petrina was worried about having a target on her back after having one of the weakest dishes this week. With the elimination of Julia, Zain expressed how the other chefs are set to get Petrina out next.
NEXT WEEK: The chefs will have students cook their dishes without the chefs getting to taste them! “Yes, Chef!” airs Mondays at 10 pm ET/PT on NBC, and streams on Peacock the next day.
