Last week’s “Deal or No Deal” game lost by Luke, added a grand total amount of $1 to the overall pot that remaining contestants will eventually play for at the end of the show. Host Joe Manganiello greeted the defeated players by telling them, “to say that the Banker is under-impressed would be the understatement of the century.”

FIRST TIME EVER!

This week, the episode opened with the contestants going on a treasure hunt of sorts. They had to work in teams of two to capture a case that would decide both of their fates on whether or not they would have to face the Banker…TOGETHER!  Another surprise, the players got to choose their own partners.

Thanks to David’s fatherly/son alliance with Dickson, this allowed him to conveniently avoid being paired-up with Sydnee. Sydnee took this as a “cut-throat” moment from David, and got Rock to be her partner instead.

The teams were each given a piece of a treasure hunt map that Joe divided up that showed where the cases were and their values. Before they were off to the jungle to hunt for these cases, Joe gave them a hint of the Banker’s surprise, that he will “shed a tear.” Sydnee and Rock figured out Joe’s clue right away because the Banker’s Shed was actually shown on their piece of the map, and they were set on getting to it. However, Philip and Pavarti came upon the shed first and beat Sydnee and Rock to it.

What the players found were treasure trunks holding cases of varying conditions- one filled with rats, one tied down beneath a dock, and another one David and Dixon found held three cases and a riddle.

Lete and MJ’s strategy was to help everyone as they lent their piece of map to Seychell and her partner. Rock and Sydnee decided to ditch their $750,000 for another case hanging high above in tree branches thinking it must be of higher value. Right??? Wrong! This season on “Deal or No Deal Island” the harder a case is to capture doesn’t necessarily mean it will be a high value case like in season one.

NEW RULES:

For this week’s game of “Deal or No Deal” the two teams in the bottom had to choose which team would face the Banker and which one would sit on the sidelines to be up for elimination. If the team playing “Deal or No Deal” won, they would choose one person from the “sitting ducks” to be eliminated. If they made a Bad Deal, the sitting ducks would choose which of the contestants playing the game would go home. Ultimately, only ONE contestant is eliminated and not two.

The two bottom teams this week were CK and La Shell, and Rock and Sydnee. Parvati and Philip had the power to choose which Team would play the Banker. But, because they retrieved the case from the Banker’s Shed, the game was changed, and a new player was immediately added. That was “Dr. Will” from “Big Brother” season 2 fame.

A lot of contestants recognized him right away. Dr. Will gave the contestants a hard time for banking only one dollar last week. They didn’t like Dr Will instantly, and they wouldn’t have to see him again until at the Temple where Dr. Will officially joined the game.

The Plan to Keep a Shield:

Later that evening at the camp while the players were deciding who to eliminate, Pavarti suggested to CK, who’d be going up to play the Banker, to eliminate Rock instead of Sydnee. Her reasoning was that now with a player like Dr. Will in the game, Sydnee would serve as the perfect shield to hide behind because she is so chaotic. Basically, it would buy them more time as Dr. Will would most likely want to take Sydnee out first over one of them.

DEAL OR NO DEAL:

CK didn’t really like that plan…they all proceeded to the game of “Deal or No Deal.” Dr. Will joined the players at Temple to a very “ice cold” reception.

In their second round of game play, CK and La Shell managed to open A LOT of high value cases including two of the million dollar cases. Since the largest amount was still on the board, the Banker’s offer did go up to $281, 000. But….before CK and La Shell could proceed in their game, Sydnee felt the need to make a group speech to everyone. LOL! Obviously, she was afraid of being sent home.

Maybe NOT the Best Strategy….

CK and La Shell accepted the deal of $281,000, making the pot a total of $282,000! Their case was $500, which meant that they made a GOOD Deal! Although CK shook Sydnee’s hand and swore not to send her home, that was a promise not kept.  CK backstabed Sydnee when she called her “a threat” as the reason why she and La Shell chose to eliminate her. Pavarti was surprised, and I think we can expect to see these ladies regret that decision when Dr. Will starts to wreck his havoc onto all of the players on the island.

NEXT WEEK:  Dr. Will starts to cause chaos first by outing Parvati and announcing to everyone (who don’t already know) that Parvati won “Survivor”!  “Deal or No Deal Island” season 2 airs on Tuesdays at 9 pm PT on NBC.  It streams on Peacock the next day.
