ABC’s “The Bachelorette” has done it again. Some how, it’s managed to top itself once more by presenting fans with possibly the most talked about season even before airing its premiere episode on October 13th. The show opened by addressing the much talked about rumors of ‘Bachelorette lead Clare Crawley quitting her season. This was validated when clips of some of the men’s reactions were played as season teasers. One man said, “I didn’t expect the process to be cut short.” Another one reacted to something that host Chris Harrison told them with, “I don’t know what that means.  Do we get a new Bachelorette in here?”

Next, “The Bachelorette” reviewed what production did to make this season “Covid free” and “full of love.” Everyone was sequestered at the La Quinta Resort and Club in Palm Springs, California. That means no traveling this season for the Bachelorette and suitors.

The story to this season began from the beginning, with a Chris Harrison phone call to Clare telling her that the show would like her to be the next ‘Bachelorette.   Clare’s past journey’s in this Bachelor-sphere includes “Bachelor in Paradise” seasons one and two after her ‘Bachelor Juan Pablo season seven years ago. She was 32 at the time of competing on Juan Pablo’s season, one of the older girls of that season. Now, at 39 Crawley is the oldest Bachelorette’s in the franchise’s history. Harrison asked her what the differences are with her from seven years ago compared to today. Clare answered, “I would not be this strong woman that I am today if it had not been for those strong relationships in the past.”  Clare said, “this time, I’m going to follow my gut.”

THERE’S COVID:

Corona Virus hit the show hard in April 2020 which is when the production shut-down. In  June 2020, Chris Harrison made a video call to Clare to tell her that production was clear to start back up in La Quinta. All the men had to go through Covid-19 testing before meeting Clare and competing on the season.

CLARE INSIGHT:

Clare said when she had competed on “The Bachelor” season 18, it was days, weeks earlier that she had just got out of an abusive relationship seven years ago when she got out of the limo to meet Juan Pablo.  Clare said her father made a video for her a week before he passed. It’s a video that is to be watched by Clare and her future husband.  She told Harrison that she hasn’t watched it yet. Clare said, “I haven’t given-up on love and I never will.”  She said just “by showing up” she deserves  another shot at love because she’s never given up. Clare said her perfect ending, ends with a man (the right man) down on one knee. Before meeting her pool of 30 men, Clare stated, “I can pick my husband out the second I meet him.”

THE MEN ARRIVE:

The thirty men arrived, limo by limo. Some of the first were: Ben, an Army Ranger Veteran;  Attorney, Riley; Zac C. ; Jordan M.; Jason, Former Pro Football Lineman came out of the limo holding a fake pregnant gut just like Clare did in her limo exit on “The Bachelor.”  Kenny, a Boy Band Manager.  Kenny had a photo of Clare’s dogs on display printed on his T-Shirt.  Tyler C from West Virginia rolled-up in a station wagon. He said once he cleans out the station wagon there’s room for kids and dogs.  Bennett, whose business is in Wealth Management came in wearing a 007 style according to one of the men.

Clare told Harrison that she loves that the men “are showing-up” despite everything they’ve been through during the pandemic. Blake Moyens, a wildlife manger was ecstatic to meet Clare.  Eazy is  a Sports Marketing Agent and plays pro football himself.  He was intimidated by Clare’s beauty.  Then, Jay came out in a straight jacket “to stand out.”  After Jay, a literal knight in shining armor  walked up.  His name is Chasen who is an IT Account Engineer. Health Care Salesman, Ed rolled-up in a bubble.  Yea, an actual bubble! After Clare got presented a whoopee cushion in a box, Brandon with the good hair walked up!

Then, former Football Receiver Dale arrived.  And, it was all over!  There was an immediate attraction for each other that could be seen on screen.  After Dale went inside,  Clare looked at the camera and said she thought she just met her husband.   Harrison checked-in with Clare and told her that no one has ever stood there at this point in the show and said that.  After that, Clare said she sort of was in a daze during meeting the rest of the men.

After the last guy arrived, Clare went inside to thank them for being there and to chat more with them.  During her speech, she got a little emotional when telling them that she realized that she could be waking-up alone for the last time soon.

DRAMA IN NIGHT ONE:

Tyler C. revealed that he had some insider information on Yosef because Tyler has a friend who told him that Yosef was DMing her on Instagram before the show during quarantine.    Tyler C. took Yosef to the side to let him know.  Yosef denied knowing anything about it.   Then, Yosef grabbed Clare to let her know what Tyler C. said about him.  Clare got up to grab Tyler C. to talk to both of them.  Lol.  It’s evident that Clare is a pro at this ‘Bachelor traditional stunt where one contestant gossips about another contestant, just to leave the lead in a guessing game and going back and forth between the two.  So, Clare knew to avoid all that and sit down with both of them at the same time from the start of it all.

Clare cut it short with Yosef and Tyler C. as to not waste too much time. To be continued on that! She talked to Blake Moynes next and let him know that when he messaged her during Quarantine she acknowledged that he took a risk to let her know that he was thinking about her.  Clare thanked him and told him that it meant the world to her.  She gave him a kiss during their one-on-one time.  Blake reacted that he just wanted more and was over the moon over Clare.

After having some extremely intense passionate and an obvious connection with Dale, Clare grabbed her first impression rose and pulled Dale with it.  Clare told him after talking to more guys after him, he was still the one that she wanted to keep talking to.  Dale said he felt the same way and could fall asleep talking to Clare.

ROSE CEREMONY:

Clare told the men the typical Bachelorette cliche that she thinks her husband “is in this room.”   Blake Moynes was the first to get a rose, followed by:  Eazy, Ben, Riley, Zach J., Tyler F., Joe, Jason, Demar, Chasen, Jordan C., Blake Monar, Ken, Brendan, Garin, Ed, Bennett, Zach C., Jay, Brandon, Ivan, Yosef.

Tyler C, was upset that he didn’t get a rose and reflected on warning Clare about Yosef stating somewhere there was “a wrong move” but is sure Yosef’s shadiness will come to light eventually, and he just called it sooner.
Clare told them “this is going to be an UNREAL experience and told them she knows she’s met her future husband.  She said the process will be hard, but it will get better.

COMING-UP THIS SEASON:

The season’s teaser shows the men mentioning that they are on to Dale and stating that he’s not who Clare thinks he is.  Host Chris Harrison said in the 18 years that they’ve been doing the show, they’ve never had to deal with “something like this.”   One of the men stated that Clare’s gone “I still haven’t comprehended what’s going on.” The end shot shows a limo pulling-up then cuts before viewers got to see who came out. We’re of course guessing that it’s Tayshia Adams!
