October 31, 2024The Power of Virginia on THE FLOOR Episode 7 Recap
November 13, 2024Finally, a new episode of “The Floor” aired on FOX this Wednesday night and the contestants on the floor are quickly dwindling down. Contestants who are challenged to their duels are getting more gutsy, as only fifty-nine players remain at the start of the episode.
Host Rob Lowe announced that this season is already halfway over, reminding the players of the $250,000 grand prize that only one player who succeeds in a last duel will win it all. At the end of the episode, nine contestants were eliminated. The remaining 50 players left at the end of this episode will continue to next week.
Fitness Goals!
Corey got the Time Boost and inherited Pop Stars. He was given the choice to stay on The Floor and go back up and play. Corey decided to challenge the Fitness category owned by personal trainer Melissa. Corey was wise to use his Time Boost in this Duel.
That meant Corey had 50 seconds to Melissa’s 45 seconds. Even so, he still lost to Melissa’s impeccable knowledge of fitness goals!! She inherited Pop Stars. Against her family’s advice, Melissa stayed and played and chose to challenge “American Inventions” held by Anand. The winner would be tied with Kara, who has the biggest piece of the floor, and is up to win the $20,000. Melissa lost out to Anand.
It All Started with Pop Stars!
It just so happened that Anand is a huge Star Wars fan. Thus, he decided to challenge Mack who owned the “Star Wars” category. Before the duel started, Lowe stated that the winner would have the largest piece of the floor. They had to name an iconic character, item or place in the film. Newly challenged, Mack took the lead away from Anand in a matter of milliseconds after Anand got caught up on the last image. Before that, he was in the lead in an extremely tight duel.
Anand went home and Mack inherited “Pop Stars” category. Mack decided to challenge Carlos next in his attempt to beat him in the “weather” category. They had to identify weather related items. Mack won again and was one away from getting the Time Boost.
Mack challenged the Blockbusters category held by Landis who fumbled it more than a few times. He didn’t really know some well-known blockbuster films, basically handing the Time Boost to Mack! It seemed that Mack accomplished what he had come for, and went back to the floor.
Too Confident About Cooking!
The Randomizer chose Mia who challenged the category of Cooking held by Spiro. It turned out that Spiro was way over confident and ended up really bombing at this category, having to pass multiple times and had a really hard time recognizing cooking tools.
Mia decided to return to the floor stating that she enjoys WATCHING the game a lot more!. The next contestant the Randomizer chose was Gregg who challenged “Beach” held by a Californian named Nate. It was an item or activity the two had to correctly identify in this Duel. They were both first timers at dueling. After winning their duel, Nate inherited Gregg’s “National Parks” category. Nate went back to the floor.
Taking Down a Whale!
Trevor, who is on the floor with his twin brother Trenton, was chosen by the Randomizer. He pulled a gutsy move and challenged a “whale”! That is Kara!
Rob Lowe said that Kara has Dueled more than anyone. The category was musical instruments and delivered to the contestants in audio format (the first audio duel of the season). Kara lost, but went home with $40,000. Trevor got to keep his category after winning and inheriting Kara’s floor! Trevor decided to go back to the floor.
Close Call For Mack!
It was down to if Mack would win the $20,000 if the Randomizer didn’t land on a neighbor who challenged him! In fact the Randomizer did choose his neighbor Lia. As the other players around her urged her to take down Mack, stating he just inherited Pop Stars and they were sure he didn’t know it. Lia said, you think I do?
Lia, who Lowe commented is a “rookie,” decided to take on Mack in his Pop Stars category! Remember when she wasn’t confident about Pop Stars??? Well, there’s a reason for that! So, Mack decided to use his Time Boost. Turns out, he didn’t need to!
Making FLOOR History!
Mack and Lia had to name the musical artist or group in the photos. Unfortunately, Lia had absolutely no clue who anyone was. I mean, really NO ONE, and she said she was so embarrassed. Rob Lowe said she made Floor history (not in a good way) and thus handed Mack her floor who was the winner of $20,000!
NEXT WEEK: Mack challenged another contestant at a duel. And, looks like an elderly player is going to surprise some of her fellow contestants. “The Floor” airs Wednesdays at 9 pm PT on FOX after “The Masked Singer.”
