Bigger, Better! GLADIATOR II Movie Review
November 19, 2024A Whale Sunk by Child’s Play on THE FLOOR Thanksgiving Episode 9 Recap!
November 28, 2024Last week on “The Floor” elderly player Virginia swooped-in and conjured three categories in duels, setting an un-stoppable streak that made her the new Whale on “The Floor” and got the $20,000 at the close of the episode. This week, there are 42 contestants still at play and by the end, eight of them will be eliminated.
DIY Did it to Virginia!
With 42 pieces of the floor, Virginia was still in control and held the inherited category of “D.I.Y.” She had 27 options of categories to challenge next. Virginia chose NOT to challenge anyone else and stayed on the floor. She said she was “confident” with her “DIY” category and “less stressed” with $20,000 in her pocket . But, leave it up to the Randomizer which selected Jeremy, one of Virginia’s neighbors who was all too happy to challenge her!
Just as quickly as Virginia built her territory on the floor, 43-year-old Jeremy took down 70-year-old Virginia. It was the first duel of the night, and they had to identify a home improvement item or activity. Unfortunately, this was the duel that took Virginia out. Jeremy kept his original category which was “Alternative Music.” Wanting to play that category, he went back to the floor.
Cute Puppies…
The Randomizer had to choose a new player, that was Holly who had “College Mascots” for her category. She decided to challenge the Puppies category held by Lili because, as Rob Lowe stated, “America always wants to see puppies.” Holly strategized getting the Time Boost from the start.
In the Puppies duel, Lili and Holly had to identify the breed of “a cute pup” in the series of photos displayed. Lili proved that she knew cute pups and won the duel. She inherited “College Mascots.” Lili said she married an ex-jock and knows this category well. She went back to the floor after not wanting to go against any of her neighbors, especially Mena who shocked everyone in the Taylor Swift songs category. She unexpectedly nailed the song titles, taking out her opponent.
Cremated by Beans!
The next contestant to be selected by the Randomizer was Jennifer who has the “Beans” category. She challenged the Skylines category held by Sabrina. They had to identify the world cities shown in photos. Sabrina could NOT hold her own and was beaten by Jennifer. After her win, Jennifer discussed her vast knowledge of beans! Lol.
Jennifer is a teacher and said she mainly teaches American History, which was a topic up for selection. However, she said because the subject is so vast, Jennifer went back to the floor. With five duels left, Rob Lowe noted that the new whale, Jeremy, had yet to be challenged.
Then, the next contestant chosen by the Randomizer was Austin for “Failed Political Candidates.” Austin really didn’t want to challenge his new bestie and neighbor Mia. Austin said if he doesn’t take Mia (World History) out, then she will likely come after him and he doesn’t want to lose “that armour.” Mia is a teacher and says she can handle teaching seventh graders, she can handle Austin.
Time For a Ball Game!
In the duel, they were shown headlines of major historical events, and had to say the world that was missing. Austin beat Mia and kept his own category of “Failed Political Candidates.” Lowe was pushing Austin to choose Jeremy next who has “Alternative Music.” Austin said he may change his mind later. But, he’s a big fan of “Seinfeld” and wanted to go for “New York.”
Austin challenged Paul with the category of “New York.” Austin said Paul revealed to him that he’s only lived in New York for one year. After Paul told Lowe the same, the host teased, “one year and you think you have it all down?” They had to identify landmarks, sites or activities associated with New York. In this Duel, Paul hilariously called Yankee Stadium “New York Dodgers!”
This duel proved to be the best move for Austin who was able to beat Paul. After this defeat, Lowe called Paul out for naming the Yankee Stadium, the Dodgers. Lowe was seriously rattled! and being an Angeleno, of course offended. Paul said he’s never been to a baseball game. Lowe said “it’s time to go!!” and exited him off the stage.
He Wants Drama!
Austin had the option of dueling another opponent and getting a possible Time Boost with a third win. Austin decided to challenge “Animal Sounds” category next. He said he’s not selecting “Animal Sounds” for the Time Boost. But, he is selecting “Animal Sounds” for the drama! This was an audio duel, where they had to match up the sounds with the animals. There were visuals of landscapes to help them pair up the correct sounds. Such as jungle for lion; farm for pig; chicken coop for rooster; nest for Eagle…and so on.
Austin forgot it was still his turn after a pass and blew through a lot of time before identifying a donkey sound. Therefore, he lost out the duel and Danny inherited “Failed Political Candidates.” Being a big sports fan, Danny challenged Zuri with the “Female Athletes” category. Zuri revealed that she’s a professional athlete, and most recently competes in roller derby. They had to name the famous sports woman that they see on the screen. Zuri became flustered and couldn’t name all the female athletes pictured.
Then..It Happened!
The big floor owner of the night was still Jeremy. Lowe said he picked a good category, no one wanted to challenge “Alternative Music”. Until Danny decided to come for him! A duel for the territory, for the Time Boost, AND the $20,000. The last duel of the night, if he won, Danny would also gain 50 pieces of the floor.
They had to name a singer or a band with popular music titles pictured. Before he knew it, Jeremy was out of time and lost his mighty floor. Danny is now the new Whale, owner of 50 pieces of the floor, which is HALF of the floor!
“The Floor’ airs every Wednesday at 9 pm PT on FOX after “The Masked Singer.”
