March 7, 2025Muddy Problems on DEAL OR NO DEAL ISLAND Season 2 Episode 9 Recap
In the opening of episode nine of “Deal or No Deal Island” season 2, some of the players’ strategies were shown. Dickson was busy making a “friendship” bracelet for Lete, while Lete and Phillip were scheming to get David out, ahead of Parvati.
On the flip side, Dickson and David planned to get Lete out. The “friendship” bracelet for Lete was all part of the plan to trick her into thinking Dickson is serious about an alliance with her. While giving the bracelet to Lete, Dickson confided in her by stating that he’s making Parvati and David think that he’s with them (in an alliance). However, he was questioning that alliance when last week Parvati was hesitant about not putting him up against the Banker.
Team Dickson or Queen Lete?
In reality, Dickson admitted to playing both sides during his confessional interview and said he’ll “flip” either way. He claimed to be in “Queen Lete’s Army.” Lete pretended to be “Team Dickson,” but she still had other plans as viewers saw at the very end of this episode.
By some miracle, CK is still in the game and was out to get immunity again this week. The players met host Joe Mangelinello for the Excursion in a downpouring of rain. The rain really didn’t help, as the players would have to pull themselves through quick sand.
THE EXCURSION:
The remaining six contestants had to choose from a group of seven cases in determining the highest value based on weight. Although each of the cases all had millions of dollars inside, the heavier ones had the largest money amounts. Once picking a case, they needed to walk across a narrow beam high above over the quick sand. If failing, they have to select a low value case.
The player with the highest value case gets immunity and to select who plays the Banker. The two lowest value case are at risk of playing the Banker. There is a guarantee of Safety in collecting one of two red cases. The bad news, these two red cases are the heaviest, and if a contestant chooses them and fails to get the case to the end mark, they will automatically be in the bottom and risk playing against the Banker.
The Banker called for the contestant who had the least amount of power at the last Temple to select their case first in this Excursion. That person was Dickson, who chose a red case in an attempt to gain automatic safety. The rules were, after Dickson finishes, he got to choose who goes after him, and the next contestant chooses, and so on…
Trying to get across a “toothpick” width of a beam pretty much impossible, Dickson was the first one to drop off of the beam and into the quicksand. Unfortunately, he was also the only player NOT to get his case all the way across in the two-minute time limit. He did get to choose the next contestant to complete the task, and by doing so, also revealing his tighter alliance. That was David.

David picked up what he determined was the heaviest case and got it across. Proving they’re a tight pact, David chose Parvati to go next. She scored the only other red case available, made it across to safety, literally! Then Parvati chose her next best alliance, who is CK. CK had the roughest entry into the quicksand by knocking herself against the beam and flip head-in first into the mud.
As Dickson comically pointed-out, even after CK did a back-flip and face-planted into the quicksand, she still managed to get all the way across! But, he didn’t! Lete followed CK who also swam her way through the mud to the other side. Lastly it was Phillip’s turn who spoke to Joe about not doing so great right now in the game. Joe gave him a push of confidence by telling him sometimes the players who are in last, can still take over the lead.
THE CASES REVEALED:
Once everyone’s cases were opened, they revealed that David had the highest case which held $2.5 million, with Parvati’s red case earning them safety. It was David who would have the task of choosing who would play the Banker. CK, who had $2.25 million was at risk of getting eliminated by the player who would be playing “Deal or No Deal” against the Banker. It was Phillip, Lete, and Dickson that were the players being up for playing against the Banker AND at risk of elimination.
Once back at their camps, the newly formed alliance of Dickson, Lete, and Phillip discussed the messed-up game play during the Excursion caused by Dickson. He explained himself of choosing “the family” to pick cases next because he didn’t think that Parvati would be able to make it across the quicksand, like himself.
That thought process proved to be incorrect. Lete and Phillip were extremely upset and disappointed. Dickson single-handedly was in the position to get David and Parvati to be into the bottom if he had simply chosen Lete to go after him instead of David!
During an exchange of words between David and Lete, David basically tells her that he’s going to put her up against the Banker, just as she did the same to him. Then after he left, Lete told Dickson that she would most likely eliminate him if she wins her game.
DEAL OR NO DEAL:
Just before heading off to the Banker’s Temple, Lete and David had another exchange. This time, she hinted to the fact she was planning on sending Dickson home if he put her up against the Banker. David was convinced that it was a manipulation in order to not have to play, and thought she’d be on board with sending CK home instead.
Once at Temple, David in fact did choose Lete to play against the Banker, and at the time, Lete verbally announced to the group that she’s gunning for Dickson! An immediate look of regret came over David’s face. David’s motive was betting on Lete losing her game and going home.
Lete Plays the Banker!
After overcoming a fifty-fifty chance round of the numbers, Lete ended her game in a final round with a $550,000 offer and remaining case values of $1.75 million, $250, and .01 cent. Lete opened her case that held $250. Thus, making a good deal! She in fact sent Dickson home!
The final case is now at $9.732 million.
ONE MAJOR FINAL TWIST!
At the end of the episode, the Banker called to tell the group that next week’s Excursion will lead to a double elimination at Temple and only three players will remain to move forward in the finale. It will be the first double elimination in the show’s history.
