Jenn’s first one-on-one date this season on “The Bachelorette” was with Marcus. But, on the hometown dates this week, his date was saved for the very last.  SPOILER – Marcus revealed that he was NOT in love with Jenn up to this point.  What’s more, Jonathon and Jeremy had their walls up as well which was also revealed during these hometown dates.

Devin was the only man who expressed that he was 100% already in love with Jenn, and ready for an engagement.  However, viewers were shown not such a promising finale teaser where Devin also was showing some doubts.  Then Jenn is questioning, “am I doing something wrong?”

A closer look at this trailer, where they are in Hawaii, shows that this moment may take place the next morning after the Fantasy Suite.  So, Devin could be talking about not “getting there” in regards to something else.

As viewers have seen throughout the hometown dates, Jenn seems to have fallen the hardest for Marcus.  She stated in her confessional interview that, she isn’t all the way there with Jonathon yet.  By the looks of next week’s trailer,  Jonathon isn’t either.  It’s likely that the final two men remaining will be Marcus and Devin.  Then, with Marcus seen as getting cold feet, that only leaves Devin.

During Marcus’ hometown date, he was the only guy who she cried over while talking about.  Then, Devin and Jenn professed their love in front of Devin’s big group of friends during his hometown date. Next week’s episodes are Jenn’s hometown dates where she’ll bring her final three men to meet her family, then on Tuesday night it’s “The Men Tell All” episode.

THE FULL RUN-DOWN BELOW!

DEVIN’S HOMETOWN DATE:

Jenn had a literal workout at the start of her hometown date with Devin when he had her join his running team of friends.  The first question she asked these strangers was if they also call Devin “Pete Davidson.”  They all got a kick out of her joke.

The running team had special T-shirts made up for the date that read “Jenn & Devin Love Run.”  Devin claimed to be involved in this run group as a daily practice.  Well, we aren’t sure how far they ran..but, Devin was extremely sweaty by the end of that run.  Way more than anyone else who actually runs that distance regularly.

It was after this run where Jenn got to meet Devin’s other girl, his dog.  Then, it was on to meeting Devin’s entire immediate family including his Step-Dad which he forgot was going to be there.  Jenn met the grandparents, both parents, and brother.

Scared to Say ‘I Love You’

Mom had concerns if Jenn’s intentions were “sincere.”  Devin’s take-away from his mom and dad’s divorce was that he was scared to tell Jenn that he’s in love with her because he feared that she would go and say that to someone else.  Devin’s dad understood completely, and didn’t want Devin to get his heart broken at the end. 

Jenn ensured Devin’s mom that she “feels strongly” for Devin and can see a future with him.  Mom was afraid of Devin getting his heart broken.  Devin told his mom that he was not okay with there being other men in the picture because he IS in love with her.  But, too scared to tell Jenn. 

After Devin’s mom told him he “won’t be the one” unless he tells Jenn how he feels, Devin faced his fear and told Jenn that he’s in love with her.  Jenn’s response was that she’s “falling so hard” for him.

JEREMY’S HOMETOWN DATE:

Fairfield, Connecticut was Jenn’s next stop to have her date with Jeremy.  The show weirdly had them meet at a lake in the woods which, as noted by Jenn, was giving horror movie vibes.  More specifically, Crystal Lake from “Friday the 13th.”  Jeremy thought that since Jenn previously took him to two markets, he’d repay the favor and bring her to a famous market in Connecticut.

This super market was unlike any other, fully stocked with interactive food making such as fresh popped popcorn, doughnuts, tortillas, ice cream, and we’re sure a lot more! There was even dancing (by Jenn and Jeremy) to animated musical cows, and other animatronic farm animals.

Amidst some serious buttery dripping lobster roll eating in the store, Jeremy’s Aunt ran into them at the store.  Meeting the rest of the family was next.  

Not the Most Warm Welcoming…

When Jenn and Jeremy arrived at Jeremy’s parents’ house, his mom legit looked exactly like the aunt that had just been seen in the store.  So, it was a bit confusing at first.  Then she told Jenn “nice to meet you ‘again’!”  Sooooo???

There was an awkward moment at the table with Jeremy’s mom, sister and sister-in-law when Jeremy recounted his first night at the Bachelorette mansion when he told Jenn he had a “big penis” NOT overcompensating for the souped-up sports car he rode in on!

Jeremy’s sister, Emily was pretty sure Jeremy wasn’t going to be ready for an engagement within the show’s quick timeline.   Emily then ran with Jenn’s comment of Jeremy having “walls” up to Jeremy, and he was shocked, stating that he wasn’t guarded.  So, that’s a problem!

Then Jeremy’s mom was suspect and wasn’t buying that he and Jenn are in love.  Jeremy was delusional in thinking that Jenn likes him the most out of the men left.  When Jeremy’s mom spoke to Jenn, Jenn was left with the impression that Jeremy isn’t ready for an engagement,  But the major take-away his mom gave was when she said, “it depends on the person.”  

Overall, this wasn’t a positive or hopeful vibe she was giving Jenn.  Jenn left wondering if “there’s something missing” between her and Jeremy.  Yes, Jenn there is something missing!  Even though Jeremy said he’s “ready with the right person” and he “is falling” for her. 

JONATHON’S HOMETOWN DATE:

Jenn was hoping that this date would be the start of Jonathon “opening-up” more to her. Hmmm… we are seeing a theme here.   Because they both played LaCrosse in college, Jonathon made the first part of the date a game of Lacrosse where he gave Jenn her own personalized jersey.

In his confessional interview, Jonathon said he has walls because of being lied to in his previous relationship, and he explained that to Jenn. 

Jonathon’s brother and sister-in-law could relate to The Bachelorette process because they got engaged super fast after meeting each other.  Jenn’s answer to his brother’s question wasn’t 100% reassuring when she said her and Jonathon are “on the cusp” of getting there with each other.  He teared-up after her response.

Jonathon’s mom could see “potential” with his relationship with Jenn.  His sister advised him to “not hold back” and knew that he needed to let his walls down. 

Is Jenn Long-Term??

Jonathon was 100% with his mom in asking her if Jenn is the person that she can see him with “long-term?”  Lucky for Jenn, his mom answered “absolutely.”  She could see that they’re a great match, but he needs to be all-in. Jonathon said after visiting with his family, he got the clarity that he needed.  He was able to tell Jenn that he’s falling for her.  She replied that she’s also falling for him.

Marcus’ date was saved for the very last, and already knowing that he didn’t have the best childhood, we thought his was last because there would be some drama!  Well….not really.

Jenn recognized that her feelings for Marcus are further along than his are.

MARCUS’ HOMETOWN DATE:

Jenn went to Marcus’ hometown of Tacoma, Washington.  Marcus explained that his adopted parents would not be present to meet Jenn, but his parent figures Scott and Sue, from his Army Ranger days would be.  They were mentors for him.  Along with his little sister. 

Meeting the “family” at a cook-out was the main event of the day, and not any sight-seeing before that, or at least not shown on the show.  

Major Bomb Drop!

During Marcus’ conversation with his father figure and friend Scott, he revealed that he’s trying to stay “open” but “stuck between with really liking someone and loving them.”   He had hopes that he could fall in love with Jenn, but not there yet.  Marcus said he was seeking clarity.  Scott responded that he will come to the “right realization.”

Is Marcus THE ONE???
 
Jenn was scared of falling in love with Marcus without knowing how he feels about her.  She talked to his sister Gaberilla who said Marcus has trouble being vulnerable due to the trauma he experienced growing up.  Then, something different happened,  it was the first time that Jenn broke down and cried while discussing her feelings about a guy.   Jenn admitted to holding back because she’s scared and started to cry.  

Then Marcus got emotional when telling his sister how badly he wants to be a father.  She advised him to let his guard down.  Marcus told his sister that he wants to connect with Jenn on a deeper level before he starts expressing feelings of love.  He said the speed of the show is tripping him up. 

Jenn said she sees his family as being her own.   That might have been the only time that she said that during the hometown dates.  Once they got outside, Marcus told Jenn that he was falling for her.  Jenn said she waited so long to hear this from him, and she told him she’s falling for him.

This Was a First!

For the first time, the remaining four men were shown meeting up in a bar, in a “Love is Blind” reality show style, showing the men talking about their hometown dates and comparing notes with each other.

Marcus realized how the other men had no reservations about getting down on one knee, where he wasn’t feeling like that, and felt “behind right now.”  When Marcus expressed this with the other men, Devin said there were “no reservations.”  Marcus said he felt like the odd man out.  It seemed as if Marcus was going to pull out before the Rose Ceremony.

THE ROSE CEREMONY:

Not on the Same Page!

With all that, still Marcus said he didn’t want to go home at the Rose Ceremony, and sabotage something that makes him “extremely happy.”

The men were delivered to the Rose Ceremony, one-by-one in separate cars.  Jeremy realized that him going home didn’t rationalize in his head, but it could be him being delusional! LOL.

Jenn told the men that she was forced to ask hard questions about what she needs in a relationship.

Devin got the first rose, followed by Jonathon, then Marcus.  It was Jeremy who went home.  Jeremy told Jenn that he thought that they were on the same page, and any of the last three men would take care of her. 

Jenn questioned if she thinks she’s on the same page as someone there and what if she finds out that they aren’t?
