Rachel Wins THE BIGGEST LOSER Season 15 – Avoids Reporters’ Questions

When Rachel Frederickson from NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” took to the scale for her final weigh-in during the show’s season 15 finale, it was revealed that she dropped a substantial amount weight from 260 pound to a very slender 105 lbs. When her competitor David Brown stepped on to the scale, his weight loss showed he lost 222 going from 409 to 187, making Rachel the newest ‘Biggest Loser champion.

It’s typical for contestants to lose dramatic amounts of weight in such a small amount of time. It’s what the show is all about. However, the reaction from ‘Biggest Loser trainers Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper showed shock and concern for the winner’s extreme transformation who was trained under Dolvett Quince.

During a press conference interview with Rachel and reporters, she remained very upbeat, positive and successfully curtailed questions regarding unhealthy weight, and an eating disorder. Her responses were in a blinding type manner where she didn’t seem to connect to the questions. Rachel also revealed a somewhat traumatizing and disturbing factual event that happened to her as a child, that would make most run in fear of the water where she instead welcomed it.

Rachel said that before the filming of the live show, contestants were sent home for three and a half weeks. It was during this time that Rachel dropped to her current waif weight of 105 lbs. She said that she continued to follow the plan from Cheryl Forberg (Chef and Nutritionist) from “The Biggest Loser” show, stating, “I found that confident girl that I lost.” Rachel said she’s going to “maintain being healthy.”

Responding to a reporter’s question if she saw a tweet that referenced if she has an eating disorder Rachel dodged stating, “My journey on ‘The Biggest Loser’, I followed the advice. It was natural and I enjoyed every minute of it.”

In another Hollywood Junket article, Jillian Michaels talked to fans of the show about the healthy routines practiced on the show, she said they are extreme, and doesn’t recommend people do them at home unsupervised.

What does Rachel plan to do with her $250,000 grand prize? She said she plans to get new clothes for her new body and updating her style. The rest she said, she will save and put aside. She mentioned again that she was very excited about introducing new exercises and classes to her workout routine.

Rachel said before she was on “The Biggest Loser” she didn’t cook, but now she said she can not stay out of the kitchen and is constantly coming up with new recipes and different ways to cook food. Rachel said she’d like to go to pastry school.

Rachel was a competitive swimmer. She said she’s been swimming from the ages of eight years old to eighteen. She was turned-on by the sport when she almost drowned in her family’s pool in the backyard at the age of two. Things started going downhill for her when she decided to move to Germany for a relationship at eighteen years old. Rachel said that as a swimmer, he body naturally required her to eat a lot. But, the moment that she stopped swimming after this move, she continued to eat the same amounts of food, and the pounds began to pile onto her 5’5″ frame.
