Randomizer Not So Random For First Time on THE FLOOR Season 3, Episode 4 Recap

THE FLOOR season 3 episode 4 duel, Brian vs. Alex -- FOX

The first ever voluntary Randomizer happened at the very beginning of “The Floor” season 3, episode 4.  Host Rob Lowe asked the crowd of now 75 players who would like for the Randomizer to land on them.  Several hands immediately went up.

The Randomizer landed on Matthew whose piece of the floor was next to Brian O’Halloran (movie star from “Clerks”) who currently has the largest territory on the floor.  However, he chose “Sports Films.”  Matthew lost his duel, and his opponent went back to the floor.  The next challenger was Jeremy who dueled Nick’s “College Basketball” category.  They had to name the “nickname” of the college UC.

The Same Whale Remains!

After that duel, Nick inherited “TV Moms,” and he went back to the floor.  It was looking like Brian was going to win $20,000 again because players weren’t making any big moves.  Brian teased that they were “doing nothing.”  He rubbed a lot of the contestants the wrong way because they felt that Brain was getting cocky.

The other half of the mother/daughter contestant duo from early episodes, Benedetta (Mom)  challenged Alex in his “Yoga” category after the Randomizer landed on her piece of the floor.  Her daughter already exited the game, so Benedetta was playing for her as well.  It was such a close duel, and unfortunately Benedetta lost out after giving Alex “a run for his money” as Rob Lowe described it.

Thankfully, Alex stayed and played.  He challenged Brian next!  Brian chose to use his Time Boost in this duel.  The category was “20th Century Inventions.”  Alex tried his best, but lost the duel. This resulted in Brain inheriting “Directors,” a category tailor suited for him, being an actor.  The other contestants weren’t thrilled about this. Brian bragged about this fact, that he’s an actor now with the “Directors'” category before returning himself to the floor.

Scared Off the Stage!

THE FLOOR season 3, episode 4 Duel Shannon vs. Toni — FOX

“Met Gala” category was chosen next by the Randomizer owned by player Sifat.  She chose to duel the category of “Star Trek” owned by Michael.  Sifat won this duel and went back to the floor.  Shannon was next and explained her strategy of challenging the “Agriculture” category in order to get to “Math” and then- to “Natural History” which is her strongest subject.

Shannon absolutely killed it!  Beating Liz in her own category of “Agriculture.”  Shannon followed her strategy and went to “Math” next, which is Toni’s category.  The two players had to solve multiplication equations in their duel. Rob Lowe openly admitted that he’s scared of Math, and quickly retreated off of the stage not wanting any part of this duel.

Brain Does it Again!!

Shannon was sooo close!  Neither contestant missed not one equation in this “Math” duel.  Toni inherited Shannon’s category of “Anatomy.”  There was one more duel of the night.  Rob Lowe made Toni aware that if she keeps playing, Brain wins another $20,000.  And it was so!  Brian did indeed win another $20,000 for a total of $60,000 so far!

The last duel of the night was Lillie vs.Toni duel in the “Fantasy Films” category.  Audible gasps were heard from the audience when the “Princess Bride” movie was missed!  Toni won this duel and will continue her game into next week’s episode.  Toni will go forward on “The Floor” carrying the Time Boost in her pocket that she can use in any upcoming duel.
“The Floor” airs on Wednesdays at 9 pm PT after “The Masked Singer” on FOX, available to stream on Hulu the next day.
