SCREAM AWARDS 2010: The Best in Sci-Fi and Horror!

While Labor Day is fast approaching, many of us horror fans look forward to a Fall favorite – Halloween! In celebration of this dark, yet fun holiday fans welcome another annual event celebrating the best in movie and television Science Fiction and Horror called SPIKE TV’s SCREAM AWARDS.

It’s the best in Sci-Fi and Horror voted by the creators of the genres and the fans.

Nominations for SCREAM 2010 were announced by the network on Wednesday. The Advisory Board of Hollywood And Genre Leaders choose the nominees which are selected by Tim Burton, John Carpenter, Wes Craven, Quentin Tarantino, just to name a few. Not sure how the Board deals with conflicts of interests in this matter. Unless members are not allowed to vote for their own works? But, then how would any horror films or sci-fi flicks get nominated if they are the ones making them? A topic to be researched further.

Avatar is nominated in the “Ultimate Scream” and “Best Science Fiction Movie” categories.

Watch our video interviews with James Cameron and Scientists as they discuss the Science behind “Avatar” below:
