Too Many Egos in the Kitchen on YES, CHEF! Premiere Episode Review
April 28, 2025The Winner Had a Clear Advantage on THE FLOOR Season 3 Finale Recap!
At the start of “The Floor” season 3 finale episode, only nine players remained. What we know is that ONE of these nine contestants will win the grand prize of $250,000 by the end of the episode. Picking back up where we last saw “Jeopardy” champion David, he had to make a decision. To either stay on the floor, or go head-to-head with another opponent. He stayed on the floor
The Randomizer landed on Laurel, who chose Ted with the “Hotels and Motels” category for her duel. They had to identify different brands of hotels and motels by correctly identifying their logos. Ted won the duel which was close, and he inherited the “Crown” category from Laurel. Ted was confident that he could take-down the “Trees” category that was held by Magan. With this challenger, also came a Time Boost that Magan possessed. She decided to save it for another duel (If there was another duel for her).
A Total Loss!
It turns out, the Time Boost would NOT have helped Magan because she hardly got any correct answers in this duel. Ted still needed one more duel in order to inherit a Time Boost. The game should really let the winning player inherit their opposing challenger’s Time Boost after they lose. Such as in the case with Magan. Next, Ted challenged Mark to a duel in the “Fortune 500” category. That is, the cocky Mark, who before they began host Rob Lowe reminded everyone about Mark. He said that he would know ALL of the Fortune 500 companies in time for someone to call him out on it.
It was off to a bumpy start for Mark who flubbed the first answer. Ted beat Mark and got the Time Boost. Instead of challenging David in his inherited category of “Weddings” (who was also in second place of holding the most floor territory) Ted went back to the floor.
Toni was next and she was smart to go for Ted to try and beat him over his freshly inherited category of “The Crown.” Toni said even though Ted has the Time Boost, she is NOT worried about it. He did in fact choose to use that Time Boost in this duel. Just like that, Ted was defeated in this duel and had to give-up his newly acquired floor to Toni because he didn’t know anything in “The Crown” category.

One Wedding and a Cosplay!
Toni challenged David in this newly inherited category of “Weddings” next! David said he was worried about inheriting Toni’s “Cosplay” category. Spoiler Alert! He did in fact inherit Toni’s Cosplay category after beating her in the “Weddings” category.
David challenged Alex next in his “Poetry” category. They had to complete the titles of Poetry. And, it was here where David had his first “pass”…actually four total! He still got the win somehow and now there were only two players left on the floor. The categories were “Endangered Animals,” and “Boy Bands.” David challenged Andrew in the “Endangered Animals” category.
Endangered David!
After Andrew got back up to the podium to start his duel, he revealed that a year ago he was living in his car. He said he’d like to give back to that animation community should he win the $250,000. For this duel, Andrew and David had to identify the animal by species name. In the mean-time, Steven was seriously praying that Andrew won this duel because he really didn’t want to go up against a 19-time winning “Jeopardy” champion. That would be David. Andrew picked-up David’s fast firing of answers strategy to try and beat him. But, he was still coming in behind David during the duel. However, Andrew managed to beat David and the fast-talking strategy paid-off.
It’s Down to Boys and Costumes!
Before the slew of three battles started, the host reminded viewers how these players earned their place in the finale. Clips from these players’ past duels were shown. This also re-enforced a problem that a lot of us had with the first season that permitted a player to win after only her second duel of the whole season!
Andrew and Steven had to battle a best of three duels. The first one, Andrew got to choose. He chose “Boy Bands.” Steven won the fist duel. That meant, to still be in the game, Andrew had to win the next duel. The category was “Cosplay” where they had to identify the characters based off of photos of costumes. Steven lost this duel. So, now it was tied and it all came down to one last battle!

ONE LAST BATTLE:
Andrew and Steven had to play “International Foods” as their last category that the $250,000 rested upon! And, of course the chef won it. Yeah, throw up a completely “random” category that everyone studied, yet it’s one that clearly one of the players has an advantage. So, Steven won the last duel and the $250,000! He was still surprised!

THE FLOOR Season 3 winner is Chef Steven./ FOX

The finale on season was not fair.
We have watched The Floor, since it came on and have enjoyed it.
Will not watch again. This finale was very much in favor of the chef. The only way we will watch again is if you have a do over, with a favor category.
