Youngest Male to Win THE VOICE Season 19 Finale Winner Recap

A ‘Voice Finale that many fans predicted this season.  

“The Voice” season 19 finale live show opened with host Carson Daly listing off an impressive line-up of super star singers who performed during this finale episode. The stellar talent included Keith Urban, P!nk, Nelly, Tyler Hubbard, Julia Michaels, Jason Derulo, JP Saxe, Dan+ Shay.

“The Voice” Top 5 artists performed a duet with their coaches. In the pre-show recap, these Top 5 artists got to rejoin fellow ‘Voice artists this season while performing with the Top 20 in Christmas song “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.”

Daly asked Blake what makes this season so special. Blake said what makes it so special. It wasn’t just a few months ago we weren’t sure if we’d be able to have this show.  He noted that they were missing the live studio audience. 


Legend said with his artist John Hoiday, his love for music comes through everything he does.  “We’re so fortunate we got the benefit of his talents.  Because of the pandemic, we got to hear him otherwise he’d be doing operas, etc…”The whole nation was able to see him,” stated John.


Gwen said she’s hoping not to cry.  But probably Kelly said she’s happy she’s not getting picked-on.  Daly asked Gwen about her advice for Carter. Gwen said she hopes he realizes it’s just a series of moments and winning is just one part of multiple moments.  She hopes he starts writing songs.


Kelly will sing with Desz in this finale episode.  Kelly said she’s been telling Desz that she’s one of her favorite vocalists to be around and whatever her dream is, she wants to focus on helping her to achieve that.  She agrees with John in that because of the pandemic, they’ve gotten some talent they otherwise wouldhn thave gotten.


Nelly and Tyler Hubbard opened the show with a performance. After that, a funny pre-taped sketch was shown of coaches and couple Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton.

Gwen said meeting Blake and doing Country music has changed her life and brought her and Blake closer.  The skit of Gwen and Blake showed them living the Country life where Gwen was winning and doing everything better than Blake!


Next, a live performance of Lewis Capaldi. Rappers 24KGoldn performed after the commercial break


The first duet of the night was “vocal power” Kelly Clarkson and her artist Desz. They sang “I’m Every Woman” by Shaka Chan. Kelly stated that the best Christmas gift she’s getting is singing with Desz!  


In a comedy sketch, John Legend dedicated “I Want to Hold You Hand” song to his “cursed” fake hand that was given to him this season to greet his Team members. In this clip, viewers will see the exit of the hand explained! Because it will not be making a return next season! We are sure that John is super happy about it too.


Lauren Daigle performed “You Say” song next.   Then Jason Derulo performed from his backyard which was winter and holiday themed.

The next duet was by “the Johns.” That is John Holiday and coach John Legend. They sang “Bridge Over Troubled Water” while both playing pianos on stage. John Hoiday called it, it’s a song for healing.

Carson Daly announced that the artist who came in second place wins a trip to Universal Orlando, Florida.  Daly also announced that Kelly Clarkson’s talk show got picked up for another season.  After a fun sketch of Kelly being a failed baker was shown. Dan + Shay performed on the Universal Back lot in front of a very festive decorated famous Psycho house.

Blake Shelton who was the only coach this season finishing with two artists, performed a duet separately with each of them. Blake and Ian performed “Mammas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys.”  Then Blake and Jim Ranger sang “Streets of Bakersfield” song by Dwight Yoakam.  Blake said their deep voices will make him “feel like less of a man.”  Jim said he was hoping to sing in front of Blake now he’s singing WITH him and it’s amazing!’


Julia Michaels who was Gwen’s Team Adviser this season, performed “If the World was Ending” with JP Saxe and it was amazing!

With Gwen’s nurturing, Carter developed into the artist he wanted to be. The sang “You Make it Feel Like Christmas by Gwen Stefani for their duet.

P!nk performed virtually with and Keith Urban – another spectacular performance of the finale night! Next, the Top 5 were brought out on to the stage.

The Top 5 gave their possible final goodbyes to their coaches before Carson Daly announced this season’s winner. Ian Flanigan said Blake’s support has meant the world to him.  Jim Ranger said He got a glimpse of this – the mountain top. The thing that every artist wants to be a part of. Blake encouraged him to be himself, but to be the best him.


John Holiday stated to John Legend that it’s been an incredible journey and thanked him for pushing him and believing in him. “A dream I just couldn’t imagine.”  Carter Rubin told his coach Gwen Stefani that it’s a dream to have worked with Gwen and he’s grateful for getting this far. Desz said Kelly is such a beautiful beacon of life and she’s a sister in her life and a friend.  She’s thankful for Kelly turning her chair. 

THE VOICE Season 19 Finale Results:

Carson Daly made the announcement of which artists came in fifth, fourth, third, and runner up before revealing who America voted for s the winner of season 19. Fifth place went to John Holiday (Team Legend). Coming in fourth place was Desz (Team Kelly), then Ian Flanigan (Team Blake) was revealed as the third place winner. Ian congratulated Jim Ranger and Carter Rubin before leaving the stage.

Then it was down to the final two! This was a moment that many ‘Voice fans predicted. It was Team Blake vs. Team Gwen. That is Jim Ranger and Carter Rubin with the final artists left.

Gwen told Carter that everyone knows that she wanted to work with a young artist.  He’s young but “a true artist” and he’s just getting started in life and he has so many more to come.  “You’re so lucky to do it so young!”  Blake Told Jim that he completely flipped the script on this show .  He literally gave a performance that totally flipped the script and became America’s favorite on Team Blake.  Blake said that’s unheard of and congratulated him.

The winner of “The Voice” season 19 is CARTER RUBIN (Team Gwen)!
