Part four of “The Voice” season 28 Knockouts round aired this week.  An extra element added to the competition this season called a “Mic Drop,” was awarded to another artist.  The third Mick Drop was given out at the beginning of this episode. There’s still one more left. So far, the other two “Mic Drop” artists are DEK of Hearts from Team Niall, and Max Chambers from Team Michael.

This week’s episode opened with a heck of a Country Knockout from Aaron Nicols and Cori Kennedy. Teo Ramdel from Team Michael brought back Rock for a moment and really nailed it. However, his Knockout partner Jazz wooed everyone with some smooth tones. There’s one more episode of The Voice Knockouts that airs next week, Monday, November 24th before the live Playoffs start on NBC!

The Mega Mentors this season are Joe Walsh from “The Eagles” and Zac Brown from the Zac Brown Band. They gave some very helpful tips and re-enforced some suggestions made by the Team coaches this week.

Cori Kennedy vs. Aaron (Team Reba)

Aaron chose to sing “Hurricane” for his Knockout round because like this round, there’s no safety net, no Plan B. No Steals or Saves. Joe Walsh complimented Aaron’s tone, except he told him to ‘be in the room,” and uncover his eyes, which were being hidden by his cowboy hat.

Although Cori says she considers herself a Country artist, she chose “You and I” by Lady Gaga with a Country twist. Reba advised Cori to tell “more of a story” in her performance. Niall Horan told her that she reminds him of Stevie Nicks. But, because of “consistency alone” he leaned towards Aaron.

Coach Reba McEntire said Aaron’s Nashville experience really shows-off, and she declared him as the WINNER! Reba said Aaron is “very powerful in his lane and he stays in it.” In addition, Reba pushed her Mic Drop button for Aaron. She told him that he’s perfect for the Rose Parade.

“No Saves or Steals in this round…it’s scary!”—– Carolina Rodriguez

Mindy Miller vs. Carolina Rodriguez (Team Snoop)

Carolina, who was Stolen from Niall, chose The Cure song called “Lovesong” (the Adele version) and dedicated it to her siblings who came in support during her Blind Audition. Snoop said she picked the perfect song for her voice.

Mega Mentor Zac Brown gave Carolina some killer advice by telling her to go up with her voice in intervals. This intimidated Mindy who was up next for rehearsals. She dedicated her performance of “In Color” to her grandparents. Carolina observed and stated that Mindy has an “authentic” Country voice. This, along with Mindy’s experience, intimidated her!

The overall message for Mindy from both Snoop and Zac Brown was that less is more. Snoop said he wants to “feel” the emotion in their performances. Niall told his ex-team member Carolina that he misses her and was surprised by her performance.

Niall commented that she made the Cure song “light and fluffy.” Reba said it reminded her of a James Bond song. Carolina responded that’s what she was going for. Michael Buble said he heard Jazz in her voice.

But, after Snoop’s conversation with the Gangsta Holy Ghost, he chose Mindy Miller as the WINNER.

“Two of the Best Voices on The Voice.” —- Michael Buble.

Teo Ramdel vs. Jazz McKenzie (Team Michael)

Michael Buble pitted the two biggest voices on his team against each other. They were Teo and Jazz.

Zac advised Jazz to “diaphragm breathe” so she doesn’t run out of breath while singing. The second tip was to be insync with the band. Teo picked a song that was out of his comfort zone, “It’s My Life” by Bon Jovi. He said it reminds him of his journey that he’s living his American dream.

Michael Buble called it “a risky choice.” Teo said like the song lyric, “it’s now or never” for him. Jazz performed the classic song “Crusin,” by Smokey Robinson. Snoop reacted that she was “wrong” for doing a Smokey Robinson song like that. Jazz chose to put a modern spin on the song. Snoop told Teo he gave an exceptional performance.

Reba really liked the energy that Teo put into his performance. Michael Buble had to choose the WINNER and it was Jazz. He said she may be one of the greatest singers he’s heard in a long time. After the Knockout, he told her that “God’s light radiates through her.” He thinks she could be a front-runner.
