NBC announced today that the very successful reality/competition show “Fear Factor” will be re-airing its series to the CHILLER channel starting tomorrow, July 24th at 8pm. CHILLER is the first network to air “around-the-clock scares”.
The physical challenge show that delves in grotesque stunts is hosted by comedian Joe Rogan. “Fear Factor” features contestants from across the U.S. who battled it out for an ultimate grand prize of $50,000. It originally aired on NBC from 2001-2006 and consisted of 139-hour episodes. This was on my list of must-see TV during that time frame.
Some memorable challenges contestants had to face included: eating live insects; eating bull testicles; navigating through mazes with live rats. Other stunts included sewage, maggots, worms, snakes and spiders. For those that missed the first-run of the show, think of it like “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here” only without the jungle drama, with new contestants each episode.
