The Biggest Problem on THE BACHELORETTE Season 19 Premiere

For the first time in “The Bachelorette” history, the show is having two women as its leads throughout the whole season.  The last time that this ABC reality dating show came close to this was when Britt Nilsson and Kaitlyn Bristowe started their ‘Bachelorette journeys together on night one where it was the men who chose which Bachelorette that they wanted to stay for the rest of the season and woo.  This was cringy to watch as guy after guy chose Kaitlyn over Britt.

After the premiere of the new season of “The Bachelorette” the sneak previews showed a very similar situation where a number of men were seen choosing Gabby over Rachel during a Rose Ceremony.  The biggest problem during the season premiere was that a lot of the men hadn’t professed themselves as being on Team Gabby or Team Rachel yet.  This ultimately puts the men at an advantage where the two women will have to play for the mens’ attention of who they are interested in and winning them over.

Photos from THE BACHELORETTE episode 2 are posted at the end of this article below!

At the start of “The Bachelorette” season 19 premiere, the two women – Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia were prepping themselves for the possibility of falling for the same guy.  With a heed of warning, they shared with each other their “types.”  Gabby admitted to dating a full spectrum of men and not really having a set type.  While Rachel was more specific and goes for the tall athletic types.  The explains one reason she fell so hard for her ‘Bachelor Clayton Echard.

Gabby was cautious that some of the men are going to try to play them. She said “I don’t trust men.  Not all of them.”

Upon arriving to the Bachelor mansion, host Jesse Palmer told Rachel and Gabby that it’s the most men the show has ever had in any season.  How many men?  There were 32 men total.  Hmmm, “The Bachelor” show tends to have more contestants.  For instance, Chris Souls’ season had 35 women.

The first man out of the limo was Zach, a tech executive from Anaheim Hills.  We’re sure the producers of “The Bachelorette” setup the men to mention Clayton as part of their intros.  Because there were a lot!  So many that Gabby and Rachel go pretty annoyed by it.  Gabby and Rachel said they were tired of hearing the men bring up Clayton.  Gabby did a snoring motion.  Then a choir of four youngsters stood outside of a limo singing a jingle about Clayton to introduce the next guy out of the limo who was Alec, a wedding photographer.

MAD CHEMISTRY:

After all of the men had arrived, Jesse Palmer told the ladies that they both would have a chance to talk to every man.  They would each also get a First Impression Rose to hand out.

As always, there were some stronger connections than others on night one.  Jake, who rode in on a horse shirtless, and had long blonde hair, was one favorite of both Gabby and Rachel.  Later in the night, Gabby had some one-on-one time with Jacob and hoped for a kiss from him. However, it didn’t happen.

Tino is another favorite of both Gabby and Rachel’s.  He is a carpenter who gives off Tyler Cameron vibes from Hannah Brown’s season.  And, like Tyler, Tino is also a carpenter.  Tino entered on a forklift which most definitely got him very noticed!  Rachel told Gabby that Tino is her type.  Basically, stay away!

Nate took notes from Gabby when he introduced himself while holding a pillow with pictures of Rachel and Gabby on it.  This was Gabby’s prop as well when she introduced herself to Clayton with a pillow and a picture of Clayton on it.  She said she wanted to sit on his face.

During one-on-one time that Rachel had with Jordan, she wanted a kiss from him.  However, it didn’t happen even though she thought there was a perfect opportunity for one.  Finally, Gabby was the one to receive the first kiss of the night from Mario.  He told Gabby that he was not into putting walls up and promised to be vulnerable.  He told Gabby that she looked “very beautiful,” then gave Gabby her first kiss of the night.

Tino scored major points with Rachel when he brought her to a staircase because he wanted her to create positive memories associated with stairs (noting the heartbreaking news that Clayton had delivered to her causing her to cry on a staircase).  There were some sparks between Tino and Rachel.  Then he asked her if he could kiss her, “on the cheek if you want.”   They had a passionate kiss and Rachel said they had a romantic connection. Rachel ended-up giving Tino her First Impression Rose.

Another man that Rachel had a connection with was Logan, who brought live baby chicks with him.  However, during Logan’s confessional interview, he said that he needed to talk to both women to see which one he likes.  Gabby had a great conversation with Logan as well, and he made her laugh a lot.  She said he’s someone she has her eye on for the future.

Erich and Gabby got along great and there seemed to be a great deal of chemistry.  After a lot of banter, they finally kissed and made-out.  Rachel and Erich also hit if off very well.  He seemed very smitten with Rachel.  He didn’t go in for a kiss, but said he looked forward to spending more time with her.

Gabby gave her First Impression Rose to Mario, her first kiss of the night.  Erich was perplexed that he didn’t get a rose from Gabby or Rachel.  Gabby told Mario that he lead with some really good questions and she called him “sweet and genuine.”  Mario said in his confessional that he wants to keep the momentum going and continue to grow off of it.

ROSE CEREMONY CANCELLED:

At the end of the night when it was time for the Rose Ceremony, Gabby and Rachel realized that there were still a lot of men that they had not yet talked to.  They decided to cancel the Rose Ceremony after saying goodbye to three of the men that they knew that they didn’t have connections with.  Two of the men were the twins, and Roby.   The rest of the men moved forward to stay another week.

SEASON SNEAK PREVIEW TRAILER:  In the season’s previews, a lot of questions were answered.  We got to see the complexity of having two ‘Bachelorettes this season.  The men were more in control in choosing which Bachelorette they wanted to be with.  In one Rose Ceremony, Rachel was seen calling guy after guy, only to be rejected by the men who stated they were on Team Gabby.  Then, another preview showed Gabby and Rachel liking the same man. Another scene shows one of the men talking to Jesse Palmer about a secret he was about to reveal.

THE BACHELORETTE Season 19 Episode 2:

The sneak-peek photos from “The Bachelorette” season 19 episode 2 show Gabby and Rachel going on a date together with James.  James was the guy who brought the very long meatball sub sandwich last week upon his arrival.  Photos also show all of the men dressed in robes with Gabby and Rachel seated across from them and host Jesse Palmer moderating the activity.  This could be showing a rapid-fire type of game where Rachel and Gabby are trying to get to know the men better.   There will be a performance by Brett Young and Ashley Cooke.  The women will get through their first Rose Ceremony, then at the end of the episode, the photos show a Cocktail Party.
