Major Game Play Changes on AMERICA’S GOT TALENT Season 19 Exclusive Sneak-Peek!

Hollywood Junket got a sneak-peek of “America’s Got Talent” season 19 where auditions were held at the Pasadena Civic Center.  This season will have the same judging panel – Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, and Howie Mandel.  As well as host Terry Crews.  But, with one major change!  Remember when Simon and Heidi had said that they wish there was one more Buzzer?  Like a Platinum Buzzer?  Well….

Another Golden Buzzer has finally been added…PER JUDGE!  That’s right, each judge will have two Golden Buzzers this season!  On the show day where we were in attendance, Simon Cowell stated that he had used both of his Buzzers the week prior.

Before the audience could get inside to get a look at the new acts this season, they were called upon by the production team to vocalize chants such as “AGT, AGT, AGT, AGT…” then, “Simon, Simon, Simon!” while they awaited outside of the auditorium.

Once inside, it wasn’t too long before the judges strutted down the aisle to make their way to their judging panel.  Simon did his typical slow roll while high-fiving his fans, then chatting with an audience regular who was seated near the front before he took his seat.

THE ACTS!

The first act of the day was a dance troupe from Paris, France who are tap dancers.  After their audition, Simon compared them to River Dance.  He gave the example of how River Dance did one dance and the next day, their whole lives changed, and they started touring around the world.

Howie reacted to the tap act stating that he doesn’t like musical theater.  The audience immediately started to “boo” Howie.  Then when he was able to finish his comment, Howie said he would go to their show.

Coming off last season where the winner of “America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League” was a balance act, The Ramadhani Brothers, and the season before that (AGT: All-Stars), aerialist Aidan Bryant won,  it’s the perfect timing for yet another aerialist act.  This one is a dentist.

She is a dentist by day, and an aerialist in Las Vegas by night and weekends.  She came fully dressed wearing flowy pants and blouse.  Not the typical scantily clad outfit that most aerialists wear.  But, this outfit worked well for her as we got a beautiful visual as her hair and clothes all blew in the air as she whipped around high above the stage.  Howie joked that she should have added floss to her routine

Keep Believing!

No one was prepared for the next audition – Richard Goodall.  His story is that he’s been a janitor at a school for 20 years.  Richard first auditioned for AGT in 2009, and didn’t get past the producers.

Simon said they had different producers back then.  Heidi said this time is different.  Richard agreed and also revealed that coming to California wasn’t even on his radar.  Hmm…makes us think that maybe new producers called Richard on down to audition for AGT season 19.  After Richard gave the most surprising audition of the show as he belted out Journey song, “Don’t Stop Believin,” Howie couldn’t resist and said Richard really “cleaned up!” LOL!

Is Sethward Back!!??

The next act that came out could have easily been mistaken for Sethward.  Legitimately thought it was him!  But, no, it was an “Owl” act who was fully dressed in an owl costume.  Simon’s critique wrapped it up completely when he said if you take the “l” off, you have “ow” and that’s what the act was.

Another dance act was by two friends named Jak and Rock from Mississippi.  Although the judges said their act was original, it actually was very similar to a Stomp number.  The irony was that they happened to be wearing clothing by a winning designer from Heidi’s show “Making the Cut” (maybe Jonny Cota?).

Next Level!

Six siblings from the Philippines had some major blood harmony.  The six singers consisted of brothers and sisters and one cousin.  They started by singing to a background track, which was too loud and overpowering.

Simon requested that they sing it a capella.  When they did that, it took their AGT audition up to the next level.  All the judges agreed that they sounded much better and it was a big improvement.  Heidi said when Simon asks to make those kinds of changes, he knows what he’s talking about and is always right.

One of these acts did get a Golden Buzzer!

“America’s Got Talent” season 19 premieres Tuesday, May 28th at 8/7c on NBC and streaming on Peacock.
