In an interview released from Summit Entertainment, actor who plays Jasper Hale in The Twilight Saga films, Jackson Rathbone talks about the process of making ‘Breaking Dawn with writer Stephenie Meyer, who also wrote the screenplay, on the set, and Bella’s (Kristen Stewart) transformation and how the Cullens become divided.

Rathbone says, “In Breaking Dawn Part 1 we show this alliance between the wolf pack and the Cullens because the Cullen are trying to keep the baby alive. The wolf pack is split-up as to weather to take-out the Cullens as well as the baby because it’s a breach of contract for a Vampire to impregnate a human.” They have to get along and fight side-by-side. The Cullens go through a period where the wolf pack has sanctioned them off and they can’t go out to feed. This makes it harder for them to be around Bella.

Rathbone stated “It’s been great having Stephenie (Meyer) on set everyday. She is breaking down parts 1 and 2 as a producer. It’s hard to take a story form a book and portray it accurately on a film. To have the author there really helps not only the actors but the director and producers as well I’m sure.’

Meyer talks about some of the elements that make-up “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn- Part 1”. “Eclipse” ends with Jacob’s heart broken. Breaking Dawn 1 picks up with the wedding of Bella and Edward. Meyer stated that she was happy about the choice of wedding dress for Bella. “I wanted the wedding dress to be special. Something you wouldn’t pick up at as store. I was really happy with what they did with it. It’s similar to what I envisioned and they added-in their own elements. It turned out beautiful,” said Meyer.

After the wedding, Bella’s pregnancy causes her health to decline. Meyer said, “I don’t know if the book has the same impact as seeing Bella deteriorate.” This cause the Cullens do become divided. Some protect Bella’s choice- mostly Rosalie. Others only care about Bella’s life- Edward and Alice.

For Edward the newborn, Renesmee, is not a real person until he actually hears her. How much she adores Bella. Her mental capacity is far more developed than what a real human child would be. Meyer said, “It’s not about saving Bella’s life, it’s about saving this real person.” It was the bad part of him that’s ruining Bella’s life like he was always afraid of. Meyer’s also explains, “now, it’s part of her and it’s something beautiful and innocent and that changes everything for him.”
