Oxygen announced “The Face”, a new reality competition series that features an array of up and coming female models vying to become the spokesperson for a nationally recognized brand hosted by Naomi Campbell! But wait, we’re hoping that Campbell advises them not to throw a phone at their maids! Incidents like that scream endorsement breaker.

HOW THE GAME IS PLAYED:
“The Face” features three teams of models, each led by a supermodel coach. Maybe we’ll see some of the greats from the 80’s and 90’s like Linda Evangelista, Claudia Schiffer, Niki Taylor, Cindy Crawford, Kathy Ireland, pretty much all the women I idolized in those days… But, back to the press release. Along with Campbell, these model coaches will scout and choose their teams from aspiring young models all over the world before guiding them through assignments including photo shoots, runway shows, and commercials for some of America’s best known brands. Throughout the series, the supermodels will mentor these young women through the tricks of the trade while exposing them to the best photographers, stylists, and designers.

WHAT THEY WIN:
The winner of “America’s Next Top Model”..Ops!, “The Face” wins will become the face of a major national brand earning a real contract as the brand ambassador (or Spokes model). The supermodel coaches will soon be announced! Fingers crossed for Christie Brinkley, Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss, Stephanie Seymour! For super models I haven’t mentioned, it’s because you are hosting your own fashion reality competition show.

THE HOST:
Oxygen press release stated: Naomi Campbell said “I am looking forward to working in partnership with Oxygen and Shine America to discover the next beautiful face of the modeling world. With ‘The Face’ the audience will get a real insider’s look at this exciting industry that has been so good to me. One lucky girl will become the face of a major brand”.

Campbell is one of the five original supermodels. She was born in London and was discovered when she was 15 years old. Campbell has appeared on the covers of more than 500 magazines and worked on campaigns for companies including: Burberry Versace, Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana, among others. She has appeared in countless TV shows, news reports, TMZ, in court…oh, yes back to Oxygen’s release – “The Cosby Show”, “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”.
