Last season’s “The Voice” winner, Niall Horan, has a stacked Team this season, and it really showed with this week’s 3-Way-Knockout performances.  Monday’s performance from Team Niall had NO ONE going home.  It was a 3-Way-Knockout for the books which had Huntley, Claudia B., and Noah Spencer.  Other coaches John Legend and Reba McEntire were up for the opportunity to Steal!

Niall chose to keep Huntley on his Team.  He then Saved Claudia B., after fighting with John who pushed his Steal to get her back on HIS Team.  Claudia said she adored working with John Legend, but felt like she hadn’t had enough time on Team Niall yet.  She chose to stay with Niall Horan.

John went for another Steal.  When it was Noah’s time to say goodbye, both John and Reba pressed their Steal buttons.  Reba said she loved the “gravel” in his voice.  Noah chose Reba.  His singing made her cry during his performance.

On Team Reba’s 3-Way-Knockout, also from Monday’s episode, Ruby Leigh won over her coach with her old-school Country sound and superb yodels while singing “Blue” by LeAnn Rimes.  Reba said “we need that tone, that yodel, that Country feel.”

When it was time for Team Gwen to perform,  John Legend finally made good use of a successful Steal when he pushed his button to Steal Kristan Brown after her 3-Way-Knockout performance of  “This One’s for the Girls” which she dedicated to her vocal students.

FINAL TEAM RESULTS are down below at the end of this article.

TUESDAY’S KNOCKOUTS:

TEAM LEGEND

Two of the artists in John Legend’s first 3-Way-Knockout, he stole after turning for them in the Blinds, and not getting them on his Team.  The first 3-Way-Knockout of the night was with Taylor Deneen, Brandon Montel, and Mac Royals.

John said he paired the trio of these artists because Taylor, Brandon and Mac are all soulful singers with different tones.  Brandon chose “Nobody Gets Me” by SZA.   Taylor chose “Sweet Thing” by Rufus and Chaka Khan.   She was inspired by the song as a child and decided to be a powerhouse singer.

After the 3-Way-Knockout performance, each coach gave their critiques and who they thought won.  Reba told Brandon that his stage presence was great, and Taylor was “powerful.”  Reba chose Taylor.

Niall said he’s never seen anything like how Mac performed, and with Taylor he “almost fell through the chair.”  Niall went with Mac.  Gwen asked Mac if he was locking eyes with her?  LOL, John suggested to Mac in rehearsals to do just that!  She said it was like a Grammy performance and chose him.

John told Brandon that they all felt how well he connected to the song, and said it was his best performance. Mac wasn’t playing today!  He told Taylor that she did Chaka justice.

KNOCKOUT WINNER:  Mac

SAVE:  John saved Taylor.  John said they’ve never had Knockouts with this high of quality of performances.

TEAM REBA

Jordan chose the song “Hole in the Bottle” by Kelsea Ballerini.  Jordan cracked a joke with Wynonna during rehearsal.  Reba called Jordan “the most Country act” that she has on her team.  Wynonna said they need that sound, “pure Country twang.”  Gwen reacted that when Jordan did that song, she saw it in a whole new way.

KNOCKOUT WINNER:  Jordan.  Reba said Jordan is mysterious and crafty and can’t wait to see what she does next.

TEAM NIALL

Niall paired Lennon Vanderdoes, Alexa Wildish, and Julia Roome for the 3-Way-Knockout.  While Niall was still out of the office due to a concert, his Team got  to work with Dan + Shay who were filling in for him, along with the Mega Mentor Wynonna Judd.

Alexa Wildish sang “Believe” by Cher.   She sang the song about her first love.  She wanted people to feel the heart of the song.  Everyone in the rehearsal was crying, Wynonna and Dan + Shay included.  Wynonna said Alexa reminded her of a young Joni Mitchell.  Dan + Shay called her “a total empath,” and “she’s got it.”

Julia, the youngest at 13-years-old, had to follow Alexa.  She chose “Unstoppable” by Sia.  She chose the song because it’s so strong and powerful.  She wants to prove to people that she’s also strong.   Wynonna told her that she sees herself in her.  She advised her to feel it more and “less performance.”

Wynonna told Lennon that he can “either be right or be loved.”   She said he wants to be loved.  Lennon chose the song “I Won’t Give Up” song by Jason Mraz which was for his wife.
After Julia’s performance, John yelled to the other coaches in frustration, “what are we doing?  How come none of us have any Steals?!”

John was crying after Lennon’s Knockout performance.  Gwen told him that “no one does that anymore.   John said after he’s become a dad, he cries more.  He told Lennon that he sees him as the underdog and it felt that Lennon was fully being himself.  He said “I don’t know why I won’t stop crying.”  Reba went over to give John a hug.  John finished,  it felt so passionate and moving. “It just really got me.”

John said he was stunned by what Julia did, and a revelation like that she could win “The Voice.”  Reba told Lennon the biggest compliment an artist can give another is crying.  It was Niall’s time to choose a winner.

Niall said there’s no Steal or Saves left. He had no words.

KNOCKOUT WINNER: Alexa.  Niall said she’s the “most mind blowing” and she’s a “one in a million talent. She can win this.”  Niall said that Knockout was “insane” and he’s never felt an emotion like that.

GAME CHANGER!

“The Voice” host Carson Daly announced a change in the game play this season and introduced something new that they’ve never done in 24 seasons of the show.  The Blinds had more 4-Chair-Turns this season during the Blinds than any other season.

THE NEW TWIST – Each coach will call back one artist to return for the Playoffs!  It was suggested in the teaser that John Legend will call back Lennon Vanderdoes!  That would be great!
