The Final Four on THE BACHELOR Season 28 Episode 7 Recap!

It’s the week before Hometown Dates on “The Bachelor” which means that Joey spent more time than usual analyzing his relationships with the six remaining women very closely.

The roses held a lot more weight because whomever received one gave them an automatic pass to introduce Joey to their families and bring him to their hometowns.

The remaining women this week were: Kelsey A., Kelsey T., Maria, Jenn, Daisy, and Rachel.  The women had two one-on-one dates and one group date.

Midway through the episode, Maria gave Joey a reason to doubt their relationship.  While on the group date, Jenn pulled out all the stops in her attempt to get a hometown rose.  Daisy had the other women jealous of her when she received the date card for the first  one-on-one  this week.

In the end, the women had reason to be upset again when host Jesse Palmer stopped by before the Cocktail Party to tell them it was cancelled!

During the Rose Ceremony, after some back-and-forth with Maria, Joey in fact made her part of his final four ladies chosen to visit their hometowns.

THE FIRST ONE-ON-ONE DATE:

Daisy got this week’s first one-on-one date.  By this time, every girl there has already gotten a one-on-one with Joey. But, they were still envious that it was Daisy and not them going on a second one-on-one.  Daisy dropped somewhat of a bomb on Joey during dinner when she was brutally honest by telling him that she wasn’t there yet with him. But, she can see herself getting there.  Joey must really like Daisy a whole lot because this didn’t scare him off, and he gave her the rose which meant he would be visiting her hometown to meet her family.

THE GROUP DATE:

The women on the Group Date were Maria, Kelsey T., Rachel, and Jenn.  These ladies had some lessons in lumber jacking by a pro, Anita, before competing against each other in Joey’s Lumberjack Competition!  The various tasks in this competition involved saws and axes! The final round had the women going through an obstacle course.

The winner was Kelsey T.  However, what really made the women jealous was when Jenn snuck off to video bomb Joey’s interview to kiss him.   Maria was apprehensive of introducing someone to her family that isn’t 100% hers.

Joey told them that he could envision meeting each of their families.  It was Jenn’s goal to see where Joey was really at with her and their relationship.  During her alone time with Joey, Jenn warned him that he wasn’t going to feel the “most comfortable” with her family.  On top of having a Korean culture, she’s never brought anyone home before.  Joey put her worries at ease by stating that he will be comfortable with them no matter what.

Kelsey revealed that her dad has no idea that she’s on “The Bachelor.”  When it was Maria’s turn, she told him that she’s finding it difficult the thought of him not being 100% her guy.  Joey was upset that Maria was doubting what they have together.  She stepped away to take a break and left Joey to sit on the couch alone wondering if she was leaving the show or not.

After Maria came back to Joey, he felt “conflicted.”  He made the argument that when he was going through the process with Charity Lawson, the way he felt about her, there was no way he would consider leaving.  So, He didn’t get why Maria was feeling that way and was convinced that she must not be really in it for him. “I want someone who’s going to choose me,” Joey stated.  Joey gave Maria somewhat of a pep talk. Ultimately, he said he can’t be with someone who “can’t see it.”

After Maria gave him reason to doubt, Joey decided NOT to give out the group date rose.  That was a hint that Maria would have gotten that rose.  But, she made him second-guess it.

THE SECOND ONE-ON-ONE DATE:

Kelsey A. talked Joey into participating in a local event called the Jasper Polar Plunge Palooza that required them, along with a group of other locals, to jump into freezing cold water.  Kelsey told Joey that the Polar Plunge was scary but telling him that she’s falling for him is “scarier.”

Kelsey was honest with Joey by telling him it would be terrifying for her if Joey has strong feelings for two women at the end.  Joey said he will only get engaged to the woman he is fully in love with.  That made Kelsey feel better, then Joey gave her the Hometown Rose.  That means he’ll be meeting her Dad in New Orleans.

THE COCKTAIL PARTY:

There was no Cocktail Party before the last Rose Ceremony before Hometown Dates.  The women were in shock and disappointed.

THE ROSE CEREMONY:

Joey told the women that it’s not lost on him how truly lucky he is. “I’m here to find my wife. I’m really, really confident that she’s in this room tonight.”  The first rose he gave out was.. But first, Joey pulled Maria to talk in private.  He needed reassurance that Maria wasn’t going to want to leave again when things got hard again.  She responded that she just needed to get out of her head and all was good.

There were only two roses to give out.  Daisy and Kelsey A. both already had roses.

The women who got roses:  Rachel, and Maria got the last rose.

Women who went home:  Kelsey T., and Jenn.
