In the second week of NBC’s “The Voice” live shows, the fans got to choose the songs that the Top 11 artists would perform on Monday night’s show. This week had the good and the bad. Stand-out performances came from Team J Hud’s Davon Fleming who tackled a Whitney Houston song, ShiAnn Jones with a “Dream Girls” Beyonce tune, Addison Agen and Chloe Kohanski(Team Adam) who both impressed again with their unique original styles.

The Live Resuls show brought some shockers when revealing the Bottom Two artits and a beloved, fan favorite went home at the end of Tuesday’s show in an emotional exit.

Miley told Janice that her fanbase is “huge”. The fans chose the song “Shine” for Janice to sing. Janice said she loves her fans and they make her feel like “a whole new person.” Miley said the song has never been done on the show before. But, Janice can “Handle it.”

Host Carson Daly said the song took him back to his KROQ (Los Angeles radio station) days. Adam said he never really liked that song. But, she transformed it and she’s “not normal.” Miley got emotional because she’s so proud of Janice and no one knows what Janice went through this week.

RED MARLOW – TEAM BLAKE

Blake said Red will have a better performance this week due to the iconic song that he’s singing. Blake added that the fans know that Red is Country to the core and want to hear a dark ballad. “The song requires the softer side” said Blake. Red said it’s an honor to sing the song.

Jennifer responded to Red’s performance with “how powerful it is when you can silence a crowd…the way you just did, shows that you are owning the moment. It shows the power of music which you possess.” Blake agreed and Red did have the crowd captivated. “You sing with pure, simple, honesty.” Blake said he loves that about Red.

SHIANN – TEAM J HUD

ShiAnn was given “Listen” song from “Dream Girls” sang by Beyonce. The song represents the journey of the character. “I have a story, I want to be heard,” said Jennifer. ShiAnn said she’s only 15, and she’s growing out of her shell. Jennifer said ShiAnn reminds her of herself at that age.

ShiAnn’s dad, who was in the audience, showed how proud he is of her by shouting and standing in the crowd. Miley said ShiAnn’s low tones are so magic. “All those squeaks, and cracks is what I love”. Miley also added that ShiAnn showed them every part of her which is so emotional and believable. Jennifer said the amazing thing about ShiAnn is she’s so young. But, to be able to relay a message shows she’s an old soul. “Amazing and powerful” exclaimed Jennifer.

ADAM CUNNINGHAM – TEAM ADAM

Adam Cunningham sang “American Girl” by Tom Petty. Adam’s old coach, Blake told him “I was surprised last week when you were in the bottom two” and would be surprised again this week. He showed a vocal that he deserves to be here. Coach Adam said it’s crazy to him that he was ever in the bottom and thinks he gave more this week.

BROOKE SIMPSON – TEAM MILEY

The song that Brooke got was “What About Us”. To make the song more Brooke, Miley added a Native American feel with drums. Miley stressed that it’s important to honor Brooke’s heritage. Brooke was hoping to win over votes by attempting to make people feel that they’re in the room. Brooke sang behind four live drummers playing huge drums on stage.

Adam said he’s always loved Booke and enjoys watching how she connects the material and able to apply it to her story. “The power of your voice is phenomenal”. He added that it’s good if people aren’t thinking about the original artist that sang the song (Pink). But, thinking about Brooke instead. Miley said people can look forward to Brooke’s album and she has a great ear. “I always fought against mainstream because it’s hard to make it your own. But, Brooke just did.”

DEVON FLEMING – TEAM J HUD

The fans chose four songs Out of the four, Davon and Jennifer picked “I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston. “I know you’ll do the song justice”, said Jennifer. Adding that there’s very few singers who can pull off Whitney Houston. Jennifer said he can make the song about competing on “The Voice”.

Blake told Davon, as a fan of his he’s been one of his favorites. But, as a coach, he’s been a “huge thorn in my side” because Davon sings with so much dynamics and “it was tasteful” how Davon ended the song. Coach Jennifer commented that she’s blown away because it’s not easy for a male to sing a female song. Adam agreed and “the fact that you did that is a miracle.” Jennifer listed that he did Whitney, Beyonce, and herself. The level he’s on, can’t get any higher and she wants to see him go to the top.

ASHLAND CRAFT – TEAM MILEY

Miley orderd red, white and blue fringe from the wardrobe department for Ashland to wear during the performance. The song will be Ashland’s version.

Adam told Ashland that she made no mistakes. “You were singing a song that I usually don’t hear from a female vocalist.” He told her that she belongs in the competition. Miley was obsessed over the fringe on Ashland’s outfit and said she accomplished her goal of getting her to look like “Party in the U.S.A.” – Miley’s video.

ADDISON AGEN – TEAM ADAM

Addison was number nine on the charts from last week. She sang Joni Mitchell song. A fan posted a video that Addison gave her inspiration to draw again. Adam said Addison feels everything that she sings which makes a great story-teller, and thinks of her as an album type of artist…comparing her to Adele and Nora Jones.

“Great is great and you are beyond great” Jennifer told Addison. She said she’s jealous of Adam. But, still encouraged people to vote for Addison. Coach Adam said the audience at the end of the performance were “subdued” from being moved by her. He said she also moved him and inspires him. Adam ended with “I think this is potentially the winner of this show.”

Keisha surprised one of her super-fans by calling her on the phone to thank her for her support. The song she got was “It Matters to Me” by Faith Hill. Blake said Faith Hill has a very soulful voice and so does Keisha. The encouragement from the fans gave her a boost of confidece along with her song taking the number four spot on the charts last week.

Miley said she forgot how much she loves that song, and thought no one would do it like Faith. But, she liked the new spin that Keisha put on it. Coach Blake told Keisha that he loves her. Keisha is always the first to tell him that she wants to do Country music. He told her she delivered a solid Country performance.

NOAH MAC – TEAM J HUD

Noah had the idea of keeping the song stripped-down to strings and a quartet. Jennifer said for the fans to pick this song shows that they know who he is and Noah is doing a good job at showing who he is. Jennifer said she wants to see Noah affect the room. “This is the Top 11 and this is the time to do it.”

Adam said he still gets surprised that, that is Noah’s voice. “A really smart, and really cool awesome thing that Noah just did.” Coach Jennifer said Noah has the same effect on all the ladies and called him “electric.” He took every inch of opportunity to show the kind of star that he is.
