Julianne Hough Says She Does This Romantic Act At SAFE HAVEN Premiere

The latest Josh Duhamel film couples him with former “Dancing With the Stars” professional dancer, and more recently new actress Julianne Hough in a love story written by Leslie Bohem, Dana Stevens, based on the novel by Nicolas Sparks who also penned “The Notebook,” and “Message in a Bottle.” “Safe Haven” is directed by Lasse Hallstrom (Chocolat, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape).

SAFE HAVEN stars (l-r) Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough share the spotlight at the movie’s Hollywood red carpet premiere.

The stars and film makers of “Safe Haven” came out in Hollywood, Ca on the red carpet to talk about working together and what audiences can expect from the film. “Safe Haven”, described as a “romantic thriller” tells the story of a young woman, Katie (played by Julianne Hough) who struggles to open herself-up to love again after escaping an unhealthy relationship. With many bones in her closet, her new love interest, Alex (played by Josh Duhamel, a store owner and a father of two, is persistent in keeping her in his life.

Duhamel stated that “Safe Haven” has “everything that you could expect from a Nicolas Sparks movie,” but when considering the direction of Hallstrom, audiences can expect something different and the unexpected.

In the interview, Hallstrom said that he thinks everyone should see “Safe Haven”- even guys, and says it’s a movie for everyone.

Actor David Lyons who plays Tierney, says he was blown away by how well Hough and Duhamel work together. Hallstrom says they “were very generous with themselves” and that he really “adores them.”

The beautiful Southern town depicted in the novel was the real town that “Safe Haven” was filmed in. Hough says that the movie is really about second chances.

One question was asked about Hough’s real-life romantic acts – Hough says she likes to leave notes in boyfriend Ryan Seacrest’s briefcase or next to the sink when he wakes-up.

“Safe Haven” opens in theaters on Valentine’s day, February 13, 2013.
