The next set of eleven acts rose to the challenge that is the “America’s Got Talent” Live Shows.  The judges panel was heavily split multiple times throughout the night.  The acts that they did not agree on included TikTok dancers Funkanometry, all-girl group XOMG POP, light dance group Mplusplus, and one-woman band Mia Morris.  The acts had a lot of nervous jitters Tuesday night, which got the better of some of these acts.  The performance that opened the show, Mplusplus, did not exactly receive a warm response from all of the judges.  But, it took Simon’s Golden Buzzer to close-out the show who completely knocked it out of the park!

MPLUSPLUS (Dance Group)

Mplusplus stated that the group has been twelve years in the making.  They perform with LED lights, and their tech broke down 24 hours before the live show and they had to rush to fix it.

After they’re spectacular performance, some of the judges were not impressed.  Simon and Sofia gave a standing ovation.  Howie said he wasn’t blown away.  “You can buy this…I don’t understand what the 12 years was about.”  Heidi said she agreed.  “It’s vibrant but was it spectacular enough?”  Simon said he “totally” disagreed with Howie and Heidi.  Simon asked, “Isn’t that a Vegas act?”  Sofia said she liked this more than the audition.  “This was more of a show,” she said.

JOJO & BRI (Singers)

JoJo (Joseph) who performed with Resound on season 15 of AGT, wants to win so they can open up a studio.   Vocally, he said they’re going to go to “another level.”  Jojo was back on AGT this season, singing with his niece this time.

Heidi reacted that she loves them together so much and they harmonize so well.  Sofia said it’s more than them having a great voice, it’s that they have great chemistry together.  Simon said he meant it when he said they were one of his favorite auditions.  But, sometimes things sound better than in the auditorium.  He thought they went off key a litte and the end was better than the beginning. Howie reacted by saying “Bri, you are the star.”  He said with her Uncle JoJo, “it comes up a little gimmicky.”  Howie got booed by the audience.

CLINE TWINS (Hockey Pucks)

The Cline twins said they practice 4-5 hours a day.  They basically juggle hockey pucks with hockey sticks.  The Cline twins said they’re going to move around on the stage and get closer to the judges to change up their act. Sofia said she loves that this is something new that AGT has never had before.  Simon reacted that they deliberated a lot on whether or not they were going to go to the Finals.  Simon said Howie didn’t want them to go to the Lives.  He said it’s difficult and they took that moment.  Howie called-out Simon that “he’s a liar!” Heidi said they never miss a beat and “it’s incredible to watch.” The Cline twins said they manifested this and “it’s a crazy feeling” that they’re there.

AMANDA MAMMANA (Singer)

Amanda previously had auditioned with an original song.  She decided to sing another original for the Live Show.  Simon reacted “what a difference.”  He said her singing her own original that meant something to her and will do something for her.  Howie said, like Amanda,  his son aso had a stuttering problem and he can relate.  To hear the song, the words and story were “heroic.  Heidi said “beautiful” song, and she sang it beautifully.  Sofia reacted that she’s happy that she’s there, and she’s an inspiring girl.  Amanda said “it’s a dream come true.  I can’t believe I’m here.”

XOMG POP! (All Girl Group)

XOMG Pop consists of young girls who dress up similar to JoJo Siwa.  Their ages range from 10-years-old to 15-years old.  They girls said they prepped a second original song for their Live AGT performance.  They want to be the first girl Pop group to win AGT.  They’ve been practicing every day all day for their Live Show performance.

XOMG POP creators JoJo Siwa and her mother were watching from the audience.  Simon reacted that it’s one of those performances that “not everyone is going to love.” But, they know who their audience is and “that’s super important.”  He said personally, he didn’t like the song.  But, connect you to the right song, and you’re unstoppable.  Howie said this hurts,  because it’s not for him.  Heidi reacted that it’s like a pinata exploded and several little Spice Girls fell out.   Sofia thought they were great in their audition, but tonight they were more prepared and more in sync.

NICOLAS RIBS (Magician)

Heidi reacted that the combo of technology and reality is unreal. She loves it when he speaks, his French accent is charming and his daughter is right that Nicolas really might be the best in the world.  Sofia called him fantastic and amazing, one of her favorites this season.  Simon said they had so many amazing acts throughout the auditions. Honestly, he forgot about Nicolas.  Then said he’s an idiot because again, a magician made him look like an idiot in the Lives.  Simon added, as for magic, it’s the best they’ve ever seen. Howie said he has a real chance at winning this whole thing.

Midway through the show, host Terry Crews asked Simon about the performances so far.  Simon said before the show started, whatever you rehearsed beforehand, it all changes in the three minute tonight.  “So far, I think one person is in a completely different league.  I think the best is yet to come.”

MIA MORRIS (Musician)

Mia, who is a one woman band at age 17,  is from Nashville, Tennessee.  She started playing drums at age nine, and kept adding more instruments as she got older.  Mia decided to add a loop pedal.  She said she was trying to figure out how to make her AGT live performance the best that it can be.  Her Live Show performance didn’t wow the judges this time. She sang an original song while playing instruments.  Mia didn’t showcase her looping as she had during her audition, and instead, showed-off her skills of playing multiple instruments which came off a little chaotic.

After Mia’s performance, Sofia told Mia that she’s the coolest girl.  “You’re great.”  Simon said he didn’t love the song. The vocals “were out of tune.”  What he liked was that she didn’t compromise. “It was like a chaotic mess.” He likes that it wasn’t boring.  “I like you.”  Mia said “it’s fair.”  If she’s  a mess, that’s good.   Howie said she’s an amazing rock star, and musician.  He doesn’t know if she’s an amazing singer and songwriter.  The audience booed him.  Howie added that he thought that Mia should have gone with a popular well known song.  This is the chance to get to the Finals, so he thought she should have gone a safer route.

Heidi said Mia is “raw” and unpolished.  She reminds her of Avril Lavigne.  When asked about her dad, who’s also a musician and big supporter, Mia said her dad is her own personal roadie.

Crews announced that past AGT season 14 winner singer Kodi Lee would be performing on Wednesday’s Results Show.

HAYDEN KRISTAL (Comedian)

Hayden is a deaf comedian from Colorado.   After her funny routine, Simon gave her a standing ovation.  He said he loved her act tonight.  He asked her why winning is important to her.  She said she’s glad that she’s even there at all.  He liked that she wasn’t daunted by being on the live show.  She has a star glow about her.  Howie said he was laughing hysterically at her audition when he watched it back (Howie wasn’t present during her audition).  He didn’t sense any nerves. He loves her, America loves her.  She has a bright future. Heidi could relate to Hayden’s standup routine with dog jokes because she’s also a dog person.  Sofia said what she’s able to do on that stage is incredible and she’s really likeable.  Hayden reacted at getting Simon’s approval.  Hayden said to be asked to be there is unbelievable because she’s watched other comics on AGT over the years.

CELIA MUNOZ (Ventriloquist)

Celia stated that when she got to meet past AGT winner, and ventriloquist Darci Lynn, Lynn told her she’ll never win unless she takes a risk.  Celia said she’s been practicing voices at different places.   Celia performed a Drive-In movie theme where she was watching “Grease” and mimicked Olivia Newton John singing while she did ordinary things such as drinking through a straw, blowing her nose, and eating popcorn all while still singing without moving her lips.

Howie reacted that  she’s original and she’s an a capella ventriloquist because she does it without puppets.  Howie said she made him laugh.  Heidi said she loved it and loved the tribute to Oliva Newton John.  She said she sucks them into her world.  “You have an amazing mind.  I love your imagination.”  Simon said he loves it so much because a lot of people are tuning in and reacting that this is a strange singer.  In his opinion, it’s the best act so far.  Sofia said she’s so unique,  that it’s the kind of act you can only see on AGT.  “I love that you are a ventriloquist with no puppet.”  Crews asked Celia how it feels that she could be the next ventriloquist to win.  Celia answered that she’s “dreaming.”

FUNKANOMETRY (Dance Duo)

Funkanometry consists of two young men from Vancouver, Canada who dance in a silly way.  They got fame from the TikTok app.  Funkanometry have been dancing  for six years.  Heidi reacted that she can’t say she loved it this time.  She told them, “It wasn’t a step up.  It was like a middle school talent show.”  Sofia thinks they surprise girls because they don’t think they can dance like that.  Simon reacted that they do have a lot of really good technical dancers who are also boring.  They are not boring.  “I’m so happy you are on the show tonight.  We needed you.”  Howie said he likes their choice of music.  “This is a big stage.  What we just saw was a viral TIk Tok.”

SARA JAMES (Singer)

Sara James is a  14-year-old singer from Poland who is also Simon’s Golden Buzzer.  After she sang a Billie Eilish song for her AGT audition, Billie Eilish retweeted her.  Simon said since Sara got his Golden Buzzer, it puts a lot of pressure on her tonight.  Sara sang “Rocket Man” by Elton John.  She got a standing ovation from all the judges.  Simon reacted “I am actually very emotional for you right now because I know how much this means to you.”  He said the pressure to deliver tonight.  “That song choice was genius.”  He said she made that song her own and he thinks Elton John will be retweeting the song.  Heidi told Sara she’s incredible.  Howie called it a “winning performance.”  He said her look, her poise and talent is that of a super-star.
